****OFFICIAL 2013 MLB POSTSEASON THREAD****

Is there not one of these already? I did a search.

Bucs up 5-1 on Reds in the 7th in their Wild Card game.

Rays @ Indians tomorrow.

Buck 10-01-2013 08:44 PM

2nd Homer for Russel Martin, Pirates up 6-1 Bottom 7.

Deberg_1990 10-01-2013 08:44 PM

Awesome for the Pirates! Hopefully this will be the Royals next year.....

kcxiv 10-01-2013 08:59 PM

Yeah, im pulling for the Pirates. 6-2 in the 8th.

eDave 10-01-2013 09:01 PM

Home run or no?

Buck 10-01-2013 09:19 PM

9th inning, 3 outs away. Up 6-2.

Buck 10-01-2013 09:20 PM

2 outs away.

Buck 10-01-2013 09:21 PM

1 out away.

Buck 10-01-2013 09:22 PM

Pirates win.

JoeyChuckles 10-01-2013 09:22 PM

Jealous.

tk13 10-01-2013 09:22 PM

Good for them. Pirates are a complete unknown for me. I could see the Cardinals sweeping them out of the playoffs, or riding the wave all the way to the World Series.

Al Bundy 10-01-2013 09:25 PM

Good job Pirates. I really want them to beat the Cardinals.

Mother****erJones 10-01-2013 09:39 PM

Go pirates! Liked them when I was younger as my NL team if my white sox weren't doing any good. Now it's good to see them winning.

chefsos 10-02-2013 06:25 PM

Hey, bumpity. TB/CLE happening.

Almost an umpiring controversy in the first inning. Swisher foul tip w/ 2 strikes, Molina caught it but 3B ump ruled it hit the ground. To their credit, they huddled up and got it right and rung up Swisher. **** him anyway!

tk13 10-02-2013 06:41 PM

Rays strike first. They just don't quit.

DaKCMan AP 10-02-2013 06:42 PM

Delmon Young!

DJ's left nut 10-02-2013 06:44 PM

So fastballs down the chute = bad.

Don't throw any more of those Salazar.

Pasta Little Brioni 10-02-2013 06:50 PM

These one gsme WCs are dumb as **** IMO

chefsos 10-02-2013 06:59 PM

Someone correct me if I'm wrong: Cincinnati is the first MLB team to enter and exit the postseason without playing a game at home.

chefsos 10-02-2013 07:14 PM

That's a pretty big 2 out, 2 RBI double by Jennings.

IIRC Baltimore won last year in Texas and the Cardinals won in Atlanta, and then with Pittsburgh winning last night, I think you're probably right

siberian khatru 10-02-2013 07:33 PM

3-6-1 DP to end the inning

Dartgod 10-02-2013 07:42 PM

The best scenario would be for the Indians to have a one run lead going to the 9th and have Chris ****ing Perez blow it in spectacular fashion.

I'll take an old fashioned beat down, however.

chefsos 10-02-2013 07:53 PM

What in the wide wide world of sports was Molina doing out there?

siberian khatru 10-02-2013 08:07 PM

Indians hitting like the Royals

tk13 10-02-2013 08:07 PM

Cleveland's going to regret blowing all these scoring chances here in about 2 hours.

ShowtimeSBMVP 10-02-2013 08:09 PM

Astros WhiteSox Twins don't pitch like this.

Someone step up and knock in a run.

Dartgod 10-02-2013 08:50 PM

While I'd prefer that the Indians die a horrible post-season death, the result will be playoff games in that horrible stadium the Rays play in.

DJ's left nut 10-02-2013 08:52 PM

Hey Nick - try choking up a bit sport.

Jesus man, you don't have to get it all back at once.

EDIT: Sure as the sunrise, low, low, up - Swisher doesn't adjust a bit and gets gassed. That's a terrible AB and you just can't give away opportunities like that in a 1 and done setting.

siberian khatru 10-02-2013 08:52 PM

Indians = FAIL

Pasta Little Brioni 10-02-2013 09:07 PM

Chisenhall! Kelt em in it on D

kcxiv 10-02-2013 09:09 PM

Indians laying a big ass egg lol.

Pasta Little Brioni 10-02-2013 09:11 PM

Doyers are next don't worry

SPchief 10-02-2013 09:12 PM

I'm guessing the Indians are wishing that the Twins, Astros, and White Sox were in the playoffs. That way they could actually win.

It's hard to beat 'em up too badly, afterall they can only beat who they play. But their record against winning teams was awful. The Tribe made the playoffs by beating up on shitty teams. When you watch guys like Swisher give away an AB like that, you definitely understand why they struggled against quality ballclubs.

Put them in the East or the West and they probably win 80 games. The Royals, OTOH, probably don't drop off that much in a harder division because the style of ball they play is pretty equally effective against good or bad teams - pitching and defense will play against anyone.

Dartgod 10-02-2013 09:16 PM

I hate that ****ing drum.

Sure-Oz 10-02-2013 09:17 PM

Shut them out TB...eff the indians

Pasta Little Brioni 10-02-2013 09:19 PM

Eh indian fans at least deserve a winner. Rays don't give a ****.

I rooted for the Phillies in the World Series a few years back for just that very reason.

I felt dirty for months afterwards.

But the good news is that you can console yourself with the fact that Indians fans don't give a **** either. Indians players have essentially spent the season begging people to get out there and watch a game or two.

And unlike TB, who plays in a dump, The Jake is a damn nice stadium.

Pasta Little Brioni 10-02-2013 09:34 PM

****!

Pasta Little Brioni 10-02-2013 09:36 PM

So many sad faces and tears!

Dartgod 10-02-2013 09:48 PM

That'll shut them up.

chefsos 10-02-2013 09:49 PM

Ew. Bukkake.

SPchief 10-02-2013 09:49 PM

Suck it tribe, you'll be back in 4th place next year.

tk13 10-02-2013 09:52 PM

Another Cleveland playoff success.

DJ's left nut 10-02-2013 09:53 PM

I'm glad to see the least deserving team in the post-season pack it in.

It's hard to blame too much success over 162 games on the schedule, but it sure seemed like these guys were playing the White Sox, Twins and Astros every single night.

Begone, mediocre ballclub. I like me some Francona, but the rest of you fellas were way out of your depth here.

Blatantly stolen off of twitter but in their "magical month run to the postseason" Since August 27th, they went 16-1 against teams under .500 and 5-10 against teams with a winning record.

Possibly but there is more then one game to score a damn run. Good luck getting to Kershaw though.

kcxiv 10-03-2013 06:57 PM

0-0 after 1

Simply Red 10-03-2013 07:06 PM

Good job Medlin.

kcxiv 10-03-2013 07:09 PM

Dodgers up 2-0 going into the bottom of the 2nd.

Simply Red 10-03-2013 07:09 PM

Gattis will redeem - please remember this post.

kcxiv 10-03-2013 07:17 PM

lol

kcxiv 10-03-2013 10:04 PM

Dodgers take game 1 6-1.

Kershaw struggled bad with his control all game long, but only gave up 1 run on 3 hits went 7.

Tomorrow's game at 3pm pst.

chiefsfan987 10-04-2013 12:34 AM

so far this postseason blows. Not a single game has even been competitive yet.

Frazod 10-04-2013 08:42 AM

Dusty whacked as Reds' manager.

I would post a link, but I don't give a shit.

siberian khatru 10-04-2013 03:21 PM

Matt Moore got lit up. Somebody keep sharp objects away from Duncan Idaho today.

kcxiv 10-04-2013 04:17 PM

Hanley with the RBI double dodgers up 1-0

tk13 10-04-2013 06:27 PM

Looked like the Braves were about to choke one away again on a defensive blunder, but they got a huge double play. Still lead 2-1. Dodgers have an inning to get something or have to beat Kimbrel in the 9th.

Buck 10-04-2013 07:32 PM

Dodgers caught stealing down by 1 in the 9th w/ 1 out (now 2 w/ the CS).

Buck 10-04-2013 07:34 PM

So Kimbrel walks the next guy. Dodgers would have had that guy on 2nd anyways. Shit luck.

Buck 10-04-2013 07:38 PM

Doyers lose

tk13 10-04-2013 07:39 PM

Braves bounce back and win. Both NL series tied at 1.

tk13 10-04-2013 07:42 PM

And just like that Miguel Cabrera gives Detroit a 1-0 lead over the Oakland Moneyballs with an RBI single. Bartolo Colon getting hit around.

Pepe Silvia 10-04-2013 07:51 PM

This will be another first round exit for Oakland, its what they do.
