Forget the draft for now...is Pioli getting fired?
I want to know how many people voted "no" in the other thread because of the Geno stuff vs. how many people honestly believe Pioli will be back.
Since so many people are referencing it and it's buried 6 pages deep in the SOC thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...5&postcount=94 |
Hell no
|

I'm 80% that he'll be fired. Thanks to Marty's post in the SOC thread.
I was 50/50 |
I am skeptical that he is getting fired. I admit that is probably mostly due to the fact I have been burned by the Chiefs for so many years that I just don't trust them any more.

I can fully understand the feeling, I actually feel it. But when I peel back my angst and look at the situation rationally, he ain't coming back. |
Hes done.
|
Yes.
how could Clark or anyone defend Peeoli's record? |
I wish, I think it's a duh move, but I doubt it.
Carl was in the middle of a rebuild with a completely unexperienced rosterand zero expectations and even he skipped town with a record like this. Pioli had high expectations this year. Get out. |

My heart says yes, but waffling Clark says "No."

DaKCMan AP, in all his Awesomeness, has met Clark on two occasions. Both times Clark has been kind, gracious, and accommodating. He has never appeared rash, impulsive, or stupid.
Clark is not stupid. Pioli will not be retained. |

Interesting.
Right now the poll with the Geno Smith option is 101/63 yes vs. no, or 61.6% positive. This poll is 19/6 yes vs. no, or 76% positive. The Geno Smith option isn't as much of a difference maker that I thought it would be, at least not yet. |

Duh.

I hope so but wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. I mean this is the chiefs.
Reminds me kind of last off season when the franchise had a great opportunity to take a step forward but instead went backwards while Clark sat back and didn't do shit. |
I hope I am wrong but I do not think cHunt will fire him as long as people are buying tickets.
|
Skeptical, but going to err on the side of hope.
Don't let us down, Clark... |
A direct link to Marty's post is now in the OP.
|
I don't think Pioli being here next year or not impacts the decision to draft a QB. With all the shit that's happened this year and the embarrassing play from all the QBs I think Clark will pull rank and go all Jerry Jones with the QB situation.
|
At the end of the day it's a business. If Scott is making as much money for Clark that some reported, then his job might be safe. A new QB will give the fans some faith. They will come back to the stadium and Scott can keep the coins rolling.

But worrying just isn't productive. |
I will leave CP FOREVER if Pioli isn't fired.

I'll believe he's fired when he's fired. No real point in getting my hopes up now. Expect the worst and I can only be pleasantly surprised.

I give it a 78.43% chance of happening and at the moment, the collective wisdom of ChiefsPlanet seems to agree with me.

Around 14 million of cap space, bad GM or cheap ass owner? I know you shouldn't spend money just to spend money, but with such a shitty team you would think they could find some players that can help with that.

I dunno ... i've said all along that Pioli might stay because the team has talent and it's not playing up to that talent.
The coaching staff is gone ... all of them. GM will be told to get a QB ... period chance of Pioli being that GM? 40% chance Pioli stays Pioli has acquire talent and made the Hunts a buttload of money ... A TON OF MONEY. We are talking about 100-200 million. |

Laz continuing to show he just never gets it. Ever. |
ST sales are down nearly 60 percent.
Pioli making Clark all this money is a shit reason to bring the guy back. |
Quote:
i'm telling you that Pioli has made Clark a shit ton of money. If you don't think there is a chance that Pioli stays on then you're nuts. |
Clark has been out talking to other potential HC's that aren't former Patriotards. You think Pioli would sign off on that?

And yet what?
There isn't a reasonable reason to bring him back. He's not making the Hunts a shitload of money, he's losing them money and they aren't winning. |
A few weeks back I thought he was staying. As bad as we were this past 2 weeks he has to be fired. I'd still say there is a 5% chance he stays because its the ****ing Chiefs and their purpose seems to be to piss me off.

He isn't going to be an Owner/GM Our GM(whomever that is) will hire the coaches, not Clark |

From that list, the only guys that I would be interested in are Ross, Kelly and McCoy. |

and he has made the Hunts tons of money say close to 200 million since Pioli arrived now Hunt will be aware of the PR problem and will make sure that if Pioli does stay that he has to make some changes(coaches and QB) Hunt also knows that if the team wins that people will come back even if they Hate Pioli. |

I know you really want the Chiefs to keep Pioli Laz, but the dude brings nothing to the table at this oint.
It you choose to refuse all the writing on the wall for some reason, thats fine. |
Quote:
40% that Pioli stays still means that there is a 60% chance he's gone. more than likely he is gone Pioli ran under the salary cap and clean the dead money, some GM wouldn't want to do that. We are talking hundreds of millions of dollars since Pioli signed on. |
