Any small engine guys here? Snowblower issue

Went out to fire up the snowblower, and it turned over briefly then died. I tried for a bit to start it to no avail. I let it sit for a while and tried again, and now it's leaking fuel from the muffler area - a small spray when I try to start it, and a small pool if I lay the blower back.

I'd say it's flooded. Did you put fresh gas in?

You call that a snow blower?

Shogun 12-19-2012 08:54 PM

Yep. Flux Capacitor is out. Need to change it. Pretty costly though

Take out the spark plug, shut off the fuel and crank till it's dry.probably need a new plug though

Check your fuel line to make sure it's not dry rotted if flooding isn't the issue.

I suppose I flooded it, though I didn;t think I pushed the wet bulb more than 4 or 5 times over 5 minutes of trying to start it, then let it sit for an hour. It continues to leak gas each time I lay it back. I'd say it's leaked a half dozen tablespoons total.

And yes, it's a little pice of crap, but my dad gave it to me, and we only ever need it maybe once a year.

hoses all seem fine. My dad did say he had the carb rebuilt last year before he gave it to me.
