Yep. And it's really sad, because the visual effects are just breathtaking (the closest thing to experiencing Star Wars in the theater for the first time I can remember) at least for the first half hour until you get used to them. Then you realize that you know everything that's going to happen in the movie because you've already seen it several times.

**** you Cameron. 4321

Guess I'm glad I never saw Dances with Wolves. Must make me one of the few who enjoyed Avatar.

Have to give another vote to Pandorum, but I liked Solaris which most people didn't. Have to heartily agree with Moon.

This thread is making me realize we need more sci-fi movies!

There are a lot of sci-fi movies (like Transformers). It's the good ones that are hard to find.

How about last 30 years? We could include Dune.

I liked Dune. there is an uncut version out there now.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains. The stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

Just a word of advice, Frank.

When Frazod comes for you, don't hide behind the fridge.

The only bad thing about Dune (THE BOOK) is that I really can't recommend the later books. But anybody who loves science fiction should read the first one.
