baseball was always my first love. until last season, never got to experience great baseball in kc. last time this happened I was 2yrs old living in Peoria IL.

I ****ing love this shit. Always hated the fact that all my Cardinals friends I use to room w/ in Columbia got to experience playoff baseball and my team was always mathematically out of it by the ASB.

Heh - I went to college in Kirksville in 1987. Rubbing 1985 in the St. Louis homeschooled (sorry I mean lord of the flies all boys catholic school) kids faces was so sweet.

We probably spent several hundred solid hours arguing about it.

Just think of what we'd do in the junior league. Probly win 95. We dominated them 14-4 or something last season.

Some of the predictions for this year were just plain stupid. Royals you had a fantastic year, now go away and we will see you again in 25 years.

It's not like they lost all the talent that got them their in the first place. They lost Shields who wasn't all that great in the playoffs anyway. I just don't see how they could come to the conclusion. Idiots.

I have been one of the more critical posters concerning the moves the Royals have made- or failed to attempt to make. This year though- I think they did a masterful job of keeping the core talent and adding a potential 25 HR's to the bottom line.

Shields brought a lot of confidence and stability to this team-despite his shortcomings. He is set for life money wise, but really could have been part of something special here for many years to come.

I love football and the Chiefs, but baseball and the Royals is different.
Haven't had a chance to flex these love muscles in a while and it feels good.
