Mr_Tomahawk 12-03-2012 08:46 PM

Should SOC fly a banner over the final game?

It will be nearly 3 weeks before this team take the field at Arrowhead again.

I feel the Belcher incident will slowly move to the back page of the fan page. We, as fans, will be reminded about how much this FO has to go. I also know that it would be very easy for the media to put a negative spin on what SOC is trying to accomplish...

So, I am curious as to what your views are in regards to flying a banner over the final game.

Should we fly a banner over the final game?

If you vote yes; please specify what you think it should say...

BigRedChief 12-03-2012 08:47 PM

Are you with the SOC now?

jspchief 12-03-2012 08:48 PM

Not in my opinion.

jaa1025 12-03-2012 08:48 PM

How about fire Quinn, bring back Cassel banner so we could lose out?

O.city 12-03-2012 08:49 PM

I say yes, but it needs to be subtle.

Not really a straight "Fire Pioli" but more a "do the right thing" kinda saying? If that makes sense.

Dr. Johnny Fever 12-03-2012 08:50 PM

Personally I think the message has been sent. I also think in another couple weeks we'll be far enough away from Saturday to have a clearer picture of what is apropriate. No decisions have to be made now. JMO.

Raiderhater 12-03-2012 08:51 PM

My opinion might change between now and then but, at this point I wouldn't fly anything directly aimed at Pioli. Something along the lines of Restore Hope.

Buck 12-03-2012 08:51 PM

I voted no, but I have no say.

This. It's too early now. We'll see.

I think it would be pretty pointless, but I don't have strong feelings either way.

jaa1025 12-03-2012 08:55 PM

Ask again before the game. Once some time has passed you will get a more accurate vote. Not enough time has passed. If it was a home game next week, I'd definitely rule it out.

GloryDayz 12-03-2012 09:01 PM

I think we should. Subtle, perhaps up-beat and optimistic for next year if the right moves are made.

"With the right moves, 2013 will be GREAT!"

Mr. Flopnuts 12-03-2012 09:02 PM

I voted no. I think it's tactless. However, frankly, who the **** are we? If we were too, what's the worst that would happen? A fraction of the fanbase would think we're bad people. They already do, and who cares? It would definitely make a statement. That may not be a bad thing, unless we really plan to carry this over to next year, and I think this whole thing will jump the shark if we do.

Just my .02 cents.

Hammock Parties 12-03-2012 09:02 PM

So Pioli will try to make the right moves.

I still think it has to be aimed at Pioli.

One banner is not the difference between Pioli being here or leaving.

I seriously doubt that one more banner is going to affect Clark's decision.

Easy 6 12-03-2012 09:06 PM

I have no idea where it could go, no idea at this point... glad its not my decision because its a real tough one.

Finding the right message after this...

A franchise laid bare, throw out the wasted season of epic football disaster at every turn... this human tragedy changed every possible angle.

I trust the guys in charge of this revolt, waaay ahead of the curve at every step, its just going to take some time to digest this thing.

tk13 12-03-2012 09:07 PM

The reality is if Clark really can't figure this out by now and needs a banner to figure it out, we're screwed anyway.

Do you honestly think one more banner over the last game will be the deciding factor in that? If you do... OK. I don't.

"We need Jesus not Pioli"

Titty Meat 12-03-2012 09:08 PM

If they did I think the message should be "pray for our chiefs" or something like that. Maybe do some sort of fundraiser for Javons baby or a domestic violence program.

Eh, the message has been sent. I suppose a parting reminder would be ok but like others have said it's not likely to be a deciding factor.

Spott 12-03-2012 09:13 PM

Heck yeah. A few more ugly losses will get everyone back in the right form again.

Hog's Gone Fishin 12-03-2012 09:15 PM

I think as many do that the message has been sent. Out of respect for Clark Hunt I think we now need to show up and cheer Quinn on. Cassel has been benched which was 1/2 our goal. Lets get 4 more wins and draft a QB

On this poll? No. I stated my opinion and that was that's it's too early to make a decision right now. Let some time pass and see what's appropriate once a choice has to be made. Common sense. Sorry if I'm not eager to jump on the all or nothing bandwagon mentality that rulz teh interwebs.

I voted "no" only because I believe it won't be necessary.

Either they'll go out on the road and tank, and Pioli will be fired regardless of the banner.

Or they'll go out and win them and Pioli will be retained regardless of the banner.

I voted no.

I just commented in the SOC thread what my thoughts are, but we have to strike a balance between staying on message and losing the goodwill of the fanbase, media, and general public.

It really depends on what transpires. It's really too early to say.

I would say yes only if it were a positive such as:

patteeu 12-04-2012 08:04 AM

Yes. There's no reason to stop flying banners. SOC demonstrated their respect for the difficult situation the Chiefs were dealing with by suspending operations for one weekend. Now, three weeks removed from the event, it's time to demonstrate that SOC isn't going anywhere as long as real change doesn't take place.
