truth

The total talent on our our offensive line got better, which is better than 1 step back and 1 step forward.

maybe after negotiating with Miami Albert realized that his market value wasn't as high as he originally thought

RunKC 05-01-2013 05:40 PM

Also have to wonder what Albert's feelings are now. He was put on the market and no team wanted him to play LT bad enough. His value apparently isn't very high if only 1 team truly wanted him and for only a 3rd round pick at that.

Chiefs have the power now. Albert isn't a commodity at the LT position and he's now forced to go to camp to fight for his position.

He doesn't like it? Fine. Hold out and lose a t on of money.

Fisher is a better pass blocker than he is a run blocker dude.

Fisher was the best run blocker in his entire conference. He's mean and nasty as ****.

Perfect fit for RT!

You'll get to see week 1 when we smoke the jags. 34-10

Le's hope. Let's hope. Their pass rush wasn't improved upon through the draft whatsoever. You don't even need Fisher to run all over them. Waste of a pick.

However...

The moment he starts sucking we move Fisher to LT, or make Albert play RT from the start. You do not take RT's first overall. Fisher will be at LT eventually.

Exactly how I feel except I'd rather see Albert at LG where he earns more than a RT and won't have to go through the pain of switching sides. I'd have no problem paying him top 10 to top 5 LG money. That's nothing to sneeze at.

ChiefsCountry 05-01-2013 05:43 PM

So we move Albert to guard and draft Jake Matthews next year.

He is also not very thick and a little lanky. I think he is a good run blocker as well, it just seems like with his frame and pass protection ability, he would be an ideal LT.

It sounds like you're bitching just because you love to bitch. Deciding to keep Branden Albert is NOT a ridiculous decision. It's the correct decision.

Lots of things get "reported". It was reported that Andy Reid was going to be the coach of the Phoenix Cardinals next year.

Thank you! At least a few people around here get it.

CoMoChief 05-01-2013 05:45 PM

God damnit I wish we would have drafted Barret Jones...guys gonna be a great center in this league....plus he plays every other position on the line.

Albert
Schwartz
Jones
Hudson (put him back at G where he was an AA in college for 2-3 yrs)
Fisher

WV 05-01-2013 05:45 PM

I'm glad he's staying. I still think if they'd have negotiated in earnest he could have been locked up before now. I think both sides have had to swallow a bit of pride in this deal.

Rain Man 05-01-2013 05:46 PM

I'd be delighted to have him remain a Chief. This whole thing was just a tiff and we're one big family.

JoeyChuckles 05-01-2013 05:48 PM

Well I'm kind of glad we turned down that third for Albert. Then we took the best player on our draft board.

What else do you want them to do?

MeatRock 05-01-2013 05:51 PM

We have some depth on this line now, with actual decent players in the backup spots. Players can be moved interchangeably if anyone gets injured. I like.

Shhh...don't make too much sense. It's far better to whine about it. Most of the people crying this is a RT with the first overall are also the ones who wanted Geno Smith one overall.
