Surtain wants to stay in Miami? Link included

Can't really blame him in regards to weather, comfort, and home. I would think however he'd want to play for a winner. I hope this won't affect his play. You know how some of these athletes are. Physcial specimans, psychological pussies. We should be good though.

Surtain on staying

At Taylor's annual charity event Sunday, cornerback Patrick Surtain said he would prefer to remain in Miami but wasn't optimistic about getting a deal worked out.

The Dolphins are waiting for the Chiefs to sweeten their offer before trading the two-time Pro Bowl defensive back, who has agreed in principle to a multimillion dollar contract extension with Kansas City.

Whats he supposed to say at a charity event deal? he wants to leave miami?

Bowser 04-15-2005 01:37 PM

Yeah, I don't think Westport compares real favorably with South Beach.

It really hurts to lure these guys when there's no state income tax in Florida...

Are we a winner?

Yes. With the improvements we've made in the offseason we will have a winning record. Even if we did nothing, we were still much better than Miami last year.

First off, this is the PC thing to say considering he might have to stay there this year if we don't pony up.

Second off, we aren't a winner. A winner makes the playoffs more than once in seven years. Winners win more than 1 playoff game in 13.

Some fans suffer from homer-itis when discussing the Chiefs.

HolmeZz 04-15-2005 01:53 PM

He has to say that. He's STILL a Dolphin.

Wile_E_Coyote 04-15-2005 01:54 PM

not sounding anything like TO is a plus

We've had one winning season in the last 5 and we're the model franchise that everyone should be dying to play for.

Thig Lyfe 04-15-2005 02:15 PM

I think he'll be a Chief come April 23rd.
