The shock value fit right in with the theme of the show but damn. No warning and all of a sudden there it is.
It took a couple T&A shots of Jimmy's LatinAmerican wife to set me back to rights.

Baby Lee 04-01-2012 11:35 PM

Ho Li Shit!!

Emmy Rossum kills. Cleaning up after her depressive mother?

Ho Li Shit!!

Filliam H. Mufffman kills. Pining after his depressive wife?

Ho Li Shit!!

Emmas Kenney breaking into tears?

Mother****ing Shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a good show.

Wow, they made Karen one of the worst people on TV. lol Season one i was like yeah, she's hot. Now towards the end of season 2 im like, **** this bitch needs to get hit by a truck. lol

Great season ender. Some sad, but some really good positive for the family at the end. The Brazillian chick knocking frank out with the frying pan made me just start laughing out loud.

Fire Me Boy! 01-13-2013 03:40 PM

Season 3 starts tonight... who's in?

Dr. Gigglepants 01-13-2013 03:49 PM

Weird, I'm 3 episodes into this series. A couple weeks ago I did a search in media center, to see what other CPers thought about this show, as I do with most life decisions. I swear this thread didn't come up in the results.

that said, decent show so far, hoping it gets better though.

I'm in....I've seen most of the first two seasons. It will probably make me want to renew showtime.

I really haven't been digging this season, but holy shit Frank and Carl last night:

I have lice, too?
Yes. Yes you do.
Fiona's going to freak out.
Nooo. Fiona is not going to freak out. Because Fiona is not going to know. You're a man now, Carl. The cancer makes you a man. And as a man it's your job to keep secrets from the women who love you.

LMAO

Not caring for Steve's mob boss father-in-law angle. He's interesting when he's boosting cars and being the tough guy. When he's the pussy its not so good.

Lip is stellar as usual. Frank is good. And I really like Ian runnin loose in the streets. His scenes are always funny.

Yeah, the mob angle I don't much care about. Waiting for Karen to make her return, too...

The scene last week where Debbie flipped out on Frank was crushing!

When Frank stiffarmed Debbie for a little more sleep Iast week I lost my shit. I honestly think I could have killed Macy with my bare hands in that instant.

EDIT TO ADD: Debbie's Code Red at the end ****ING ****ING deserved, earned, paid off like a Mother ****ING BOSS!!!

Buscemi should have stuck that guy in the ****ing woodchipper back in '96 and saved a lot of trouble

Baby Lee 02-11-2013 08:24 PM

Lip and Mandy, . . . as well as V and Kevin, were freaking getting it OWWWWN this week.

Apparently Jody is a hell of a freak, couldn't even get hard unless he was slapping it in the face of a girl who was pretending to cry. ROFL ROFL

Though with the tubesteak he wields, the girl probably isn't pretending.

Great show, last nights episode was hilarious, I like how Carl talked that counselor chick into showing her small boobies. lol

Mean Girls plant ketchup on Debbie's chair to simulate her period.

'Why do thy have to be so mean'

Heartbreaking.

'Nobody ****s with the Gallaghers.'

BAUCE sauce.

Lip telling off Karen. 'You ignorant heinous piece of dog shit'

BAUCE SAUCE!!!

Mandy's look of love at Lip during the fireworks.

BAUCE SAUCE

Even Ian and Mikey kissing

Bauce sauce.

Baby Lee 02-25-2013 03:10 AM

Ian and Lip hugging Debbie when she has to go into foster care alone?

Devastating.

Debbie might be among my all time favorite characters in TVland.

ETA: Emmy tearing up over Liam's onesy, then steeling herself,

Epic.

Lanier: Your body is a temple Carl, you only want to put things into it that are natural.
Carl: Like a fist?

Hank: Where's my hug?
Ian and Lip: twin birds walking away.

Yep I can see that.

My predictions for next season:

Jimmy isnt dead, he's forced to live and stay with that fine Brazilian piece of ass so she wont have anymore problems with INS.

Frank stops drinking for the kids but becomes a HUGE pothead.

V's mom has a hard time giving up the baby only to be it's grandma.

Fiona starts ****ing her boss and loses her full-time job over it when things go sour...like Jimmy sneaking away from the Brazilian thugs to see her.

I was ready for anything Frank the Tank, Carl, or Lip threw my way, but Fiona might be the biggest ****up of them all. Because she sees clearly how ****ed up ****ing up can be, and does it anyways.

Frank seduces his daughter for a kidney, or Carl steals dogs to raise drug money on their 'ransom' and you say 'Oh, those scamps, those scaliwags.'

They spend how many seasons making Fiona Ms. Responsible, only to have her tugging cocks for the guy who figures out she's a sex addict, then have him leave coke around for her to leave on a mirror for a ****ING INFANT to find and OD on.

GUT . . . PUNCHED.

I literally stalked around my house for a few minutes afterward I was so pissed off at this episode. The entire time she was partying it up, I was pissed because Liam was there. Fiona is supposed to be the responsible one, and while she's been on this kinda self-destructive track for the last few episodes, none of her actions were affecting anyone other than herself... that all came crashing down and in a major, major way.

That ball started rolling before the brother showed up. She'd been neglecting the kids to stay with her boyfriend. So she's had no idea of anything that's been going on outside of her own bubble.

Yes, but like I said, none of her behavior up to that point had had any direct effect on anyone other than her (and her boyfriend).

She's been sacrificing herself for the family her whole life. She never got to be a kid. She had a chance for some me time, while supporting the fam, and took it for once.
I can't fault that.
****ing the brother and exposing a toddler to coke is of course a whole different deal.

Consider what Debbie had been going through (dating an older guy, hooking up in the bathroom), what Lip had been struggling with at school (remember her hanging up when he really needed to talk), as well as everything with Carl and Frank. She doesn't know anything about any of this, has had no impact, positive or otherwise, on any of them. I'd call that an effect in and of itself.

I think Lip and Debbie earlier in the episode (and Sheila all season) were foreshadowing of what happened at the end. Fiona had already been gone in spirit, now she's going to be gone for real.

It is a wildly perverse show. But it's usually perverse in a funny way.

Occasionally, never more so than this week, it's perverse in an 'over the line, Smokey' way. But usually more in a 'man, this family will do anything to get by' way.

It truly is about a family without shame, they'll steal, they'll scam for lawsuits or government $$, they'll deal drugs, eff over their friends, whatever it takes to put $$ in their pocket and stay under the radar.

And you'll marvel at times what they come up with and how brazenly they go about it.
