i hope to **** that Nick Foles is a casualty of numbers in Philly and we pick him up

Andy and the OC love Foles and thats the closest thing we can get to a young QB and someone better than Alex Smith

This shouldn't surprise you, the moment Glazer broke the trade story on NFL network he flat out said Andy Reid loves Alex Smith and they wouldn't draft a QB because Reid didn't want Smith to have another Kaepernick situation. Reid loves Smith as the franchise guy.

It's gotten tiring trying to talk people back off the ledge the past few months. At this point, I'm just kind of hoping you all either start jumping or give up acting like it.

Again, I'm not crazy about Foles, but I don't think he's any more or less of a prospect than the guys we passed on the third day. So I'm okay with this as well. And I don't care if it takes a third day to take him, because that's what we would have burned to bring in a guy like Tyler Wilson.

Come on guys, being optimistic in the off season is the only thing we have.

Mr. Laz 04-27-2013 04:58 PM

when is the last time we didn't take a QB to avoid upsetting our current starter? :hmmm:

Reid loves Alex like Peeoli loved Cassel. The fact that Reid has admitted to an admiration of Alex even when he was a bust should be all you need to know, sadly. The fact that they are both Mormons apparently is just icing on the cake.

KC ain't taking another "legitimate" QB until Alex is injured badly, sh*ts the bed, retires, or Reid is fired.

Alex Smith is not a Mormon. He was born is Seattle, grew up in San Diego, and went to the non-affiliated school in Utah. He lived in Utah for two school seasons as an athlete. He has been confirmed not to be Mormon by others.

I grew up in Utah and have seen articles in the past stating that he wasn't. I'm not a Mormon either. I'm new here so I'm not allowed to post links and don't want to go around the rule by adding spaces or anything to hide them. Look it up, it's out there.

This is just speculation by some, most of whom don't like Alex Smith as their QB. I wouldn't take this as a hurts feelings things on just that. They did sign Bray to a low contract undrafted, but I've heard that was just to piss of Miami for offering so little for Albert. Miami was reported to have reached an agreement with them.

No no! You have it all wrong, now look, if you just surround Alex with a solid line and a few playmakers, then....

Mav 04-28-2013 12:41 AM

this is a place, where joy and optimism, come to die. Some of you just need to get laid, or go for a run. Release some aggression....

Considering how stacked next year's draft looks (Clowney, Bridgewater, and Manziel in the top 3 alone places it over this year's) that's not exactly a horrible fate. Hell, I would love it if the Chargers went 0-16 this year to guarantee Clowney coming to San Diego.

The type of crushing mediocrity that Alex Smith provides has a way of killing joy and optimism.

yeah, i could see how another year of watching Matt Cassell, and Brady Quinn would of been much more exciting, than watching a guy who knows his role, plays it well, and wins. I wouldnt talk bolt boy, you are now the laughing stock of the league with your draft pick of Teo.

What a horrible draft. Glad I didn't stick around for the whole thing. I would have wasted valuable time. Reid is a complete moron. Never go all in on a guy like Alex Smith. Your offseason is a complete joke.

That's all

I disagree.

It's Clark you should be mad at. IMO, he told Andy to win and win now and when they looked at things and in their opinion didn't feel anyone in the draft could do that immediately they went with Alex.

As far as the rest of the off season, they have built this offense around the QB to use his skill set (or lack thereof). OL, TE, more depth @ RB/FB. One WR in Avery to try and stretch the D.

This is how Reid thinks he can be most competitive and win now. Is it gonna bring a SB win to KC? I doubt it. But like I've said before, I don't have the blinders on with Andy. I think he can rebuild, make the Chiefs competitive again and then I'm hoping in 3-5 years a young up and coming assistant takes over and between him and Dorsey make the changes to a more new age "wave" NFL team.
