Nobody has ever said Haley is a great coach. The consensus among "groupies" is that Haley was never given a chance to succeed because of the dictator controlling him from above. And that the same people who bitch and moan about how bad Cassel was and the value of the franchise QB are the same ones who believe Haley should have been fired because of inability to win in one half of a season with one of the worst starting QBs in the league, who was not even the guy he wanted.
I have never once argued that he might be impossible to work with (then again... maybe that was Pioli), that he wasn't a good game manager, that he's not necessarily a scheme innovator. None of us have ever suggested we'd re-hire him in 2013, even if that was a possibility. If you argue those points, I'd never push back. I hardly think any of these points are flattering for Haley.
