I heard "dirty, but maybe it was "thirty". "You've come a long way since 3rd and 30 in Kansas City." A reference to a bad day in KC maybe. Not sure, but it sounded like "dirty".

You'd have to figure it would be something like that, SD probably figured since we beat the Saints and SD beat us so badly that this would be a walk in the park.

I think he got hurt at home in SD against the Broncos

His first NFL action was 2001 hosting KC. Norv was the OC.

Might have had something to do with this game in 2005? The Chiefs knocked the Chargers out of the playoff race on that December day in KC and Brees was just awful in the poor weather. He left the Chargers after that season for the Saints.

Looking at the scores from back then some things never change except of course the KC/SD game.
