Watched it last night thanks to the recommendation.

Liked it alot, except when the rich surfers made a circle and held hands. That was embarrasing and just gave Private Space and his posse something to laugh about. "HAHAHAHAHAHA stupid Americans."

Finally saw Black Swan. Loved it.

I haven't seen it, mostly because I've been told this 25-minute uncut Tosh.0 segment sums it up pretty well, without subjecting yourself to the entire movie.

That's pretty much the movie right there.

Just got back from 127 Hours.

For the second straight time at a theatre, the credits rolled and the best word to describe the movie is compelling. Black Swan did it for ballet; 127 did it for, well, life, death, agony, torture, thirst, psychological trouble, dreaming, regret, what-if, shock and a little "what have you done, lately?"

It really isn't a storyline that should work for a 1.5 hour film. But it does. It's compelling, captivating and yet very hard to watch. I lost track of time while it was on but it was hard to watch and empathize with that actually happening.

I hope Franco gets at least a nomination. Very well done. Boyle should get a directing nom, as well.

Can't believe I'm sitting here watching the wizard of ozz. LOL I haven't seen it for probably 30 years at least.

Just watched Cyrus. I don't know if it has been discussed yet but what an amazing movie. I loved it. On the other hand, I watched Withnail and I, and only got through the first thirty minutes. What a bad movie.

i had looked for it months ago and could only find a serial killer flick by the same name. i'll give it a try

The Blu-Ray of that film is out-freakin'-standing.

How Do You Know is dull. It's marketed as a buddy movie, with a hot lead, but it's a weak James L. Brooks effort, and for those who don't know, they'll be walking out of the theater halfway through. Yes, there were 2 different groups of people that walked out last night, cutting our audience into half. One of the groups left their buddy behind because he fell asleep. When the guy came back to get buddy, the waking up of buddy merited the biggest laughs of the night.

Mixed in with this love triangle is 2/3 of the movie on career disappointments and father/son business relationships mixed with a federal investigation on the business. It's a mess because the writing is never that funny when it tries to be, and never that dramatic when it tries to be.

The actors weren't too impressive. Reese Witherspoon has a number of bald statements of "That's strange." "That's funny." "You're weird." "You're funny." And she ends up being pretty annoying when they aren't showing her legs. Paul Rudd isn't suave, and he isn't today's awkward male lead. He's playing some halfway proper/English, talks in full sentences, idealist corporate climber. Owen Wilson does his usual thing, which is either good or bad depending on your perspective.

Skip it.

I rented this last night. Hilarious. I didnt expect it to be so funny. I enjoyed it.

I went ahead and watched it. It was pretty good, something different, that's for sure. I was like wtf in a good way!

Also finally got around to watching The Pianist. What a fantastic film, I can't believe I have never seen it until now.

I've decided to watch more "classics" when I find them on my program guide. The other day I caught Redford and Hoffman in All the President's Men, and this afternoon I'm finally going to see Vertigo.
