(Brussels) Anheuser-Busch has accepted a $52 billion takeover bid from Belgium-based InBev NV to create the world's largest beer maker and end a month-long standoff. While pitching the deal in recent weeks, InBev chief executive Carlos Brito has said that he is 'committed to the city of St. Louis' and that changes here would be minimal.

One that Brito said will show up shortly after this weeks Major League Baseball All-Star event in New York will be a minor one in the long standing uniforms worn by the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball team.

First-baseman Albert Pujols, one of the first to try the new outfits said "while it may take a little time for Cardinal fans to fall in line behind the change, I personally like them a lot. They'll really be enjoyable during those hot, muggy days in late July and August. I expect all of the fans will be wearing them before the end of the season!"

Sporting goods stores around the St. Louis area report brisk sales of the new Cardinal memorabilia.

Who gives a flying crap?

I know this is just to be funny, but I don't get it. Are the cards somehow related to Anheuser-Busch or something?

It is an InBev product. I haven't had that in months. At least some good will come of this.

Coors is good, for now, when Blvd is not consumed.

I think they make Leffe. When my fiance came back from Belgium, she brought a sampler pack with some hoegaarden, Stella Artois and Leffe. The other two are made by InBev, so I would assume the third is as well.

Anyone see the Seinfeld episode where Costanza has the Yankees uniforms changed to cotton?

StcChief 07-22-2008 06:36 AM

I'm sure it will suggested to the distributor's/bars here to start carrying it.

I think those are not AB distrubutors however.

should be interesting if Ho and Lefe appear in quantity. I would welcome something other than AB regular fair.

The Bars/Distributors have this issue with 100 day born on date and stock pulled if that date is exceeded apparently
...

European beers don't have such things.

I checked last night, they don't.
