I'm probably in the minority, but I enjoyed the first Cloverfield.

I liked it too. It was a new and different take on the classic giant monster flick.

I just thought it was a nice, fresh different POV.

And no I haven't seen that dumb first person horror movie.

It was complete crap.

The first 15 minutes of the "shaky camera" was horrifically bad cinema. People walked out in droves when it was in the theaters complaining of nausea.

I'm sure that's exactly what Abrams had in mind.

It saved them from 75 more minutes of a stupid cluster**** of a shit movie that no one in the world cares about.

It wasn't very good, but it was an uncommon take on your kitchy monster flick. I've watched it a couple times just because it's a monster movie.

It was, to me, Blair Witch meets a crappy ass movie with a big scary but stupid looking monster.

Yeah but that different take was a rip off of the original Godzilla, Blair Witch, and Gamera 2: Attack of Legion, which was never released in the US.

The subway scene in Cloverfield was a direct rip (setting and the small monsters) from Gamera 2: Attack of Legion.

Movie looks great, but why two drivers per robot? Why not one driver like in Robo Jox?

If I remember right, each driver controls half of the Jaeger. But maybe they just operate in synch.

They were the drivers of the two Mechs standing side by side each other when the were released to fight in the ocean.

I'll go see this of course and I love the concept.....but I hate the look of this thing. It looks too dark , drab and dreary.

It truly is a 12 year old boy's dream movie.
