What should I do?

I posted this in another thread.....but I figured this would get more views before the game tonight. Here is my situation.

I'm currently winning 115.3 to 109.9. He has nobody left to play....and I've still got the Jets defense. Our defenses can get negative points because of shitty play (points given up, yards given up, etc). Normally I would just not start my defense and call it good.....but I don't want to get ****ed my stat corrections after the games.

Have you ever seen a stat correction go more than a couple of points?

I'm leaning towards not starting the defense and hoping that no stat corrections come down the pipe.

Bench them unless he has Gore. Gore scored via an offensive fumble recover and some sites* have been known to later rule that (incorrectly as it isn't a rushing attempt, but I digress) a rushing TD.
Otherwise, I have never seen a stat correction of more than a few yards here and there.

*ESPN has done it at least twice in the past five or six years

The Franchise 12-17-2012 11:02 AM

Nope.....he doesn't have Gore.

Old Dog 12-17-2012 11:03 AM

Then I would bench them

Isn't benching your defense considered an illegal lineup? Seems kinda shady to me.

Nope. Not in our league. I've already done it once......a couple of weeks ago. I was up by 2 points and didn't need my defense....so I benched them. That was the same week that a friend of mine was up by 1 point...didn't bench his defense and watched them get -3 points and lose him the game.

research his players and make sure they aren't in line for corrections

then bench the defense

never take that risk

The Franchise 12-17-2012 12:10 PM

What exactly am I researching? What usually has to happen for stat corrections?

Hootie 12-17-2012 12:21 PM

Defense and make sure all of the stats add up

ROFL Sofa King may be in trouble in the CP league.

Looking back at this season.....it looks like there has been 2 major stat corrections.

A 13 yard rushing TD by Mendenhall was removed and credited as a 13 yard receiving TD from Roethlisberger (who was then credited with a passing TD).

So basically....I need to look for laterals that went for TDs.

The Franchise 12-17-2012 12:49 PM

Ok....I went back and matched up all of the stats from ESPN and NFL.com. All of them match up.

The only questionable call that I could see is McFadden's fumble....although I don't think they overturn that and give him a point.

5+ points is a lot to worry about stat correction, since the majority would be changing a rush to a pass. Not saying it won’t happen, especially with the Gore situation, but I’d be a lot more worried if you were leading by 1 or 2.

Dante84 12-18-2012 10:43 AM

Randall Cobb threw a backwards pass on a punt return, and it was recovered by the kicking team.

I'm wondering if that is going to count as a fumble for him, or for the reciever who dropped it, and how that will play out....

Luckily I am +5 on the guy, and fumbles are -2.
