That time again.. expectations thread

I think it's been a week or so since the last one....

How's everyone's expectations and general feeling for the Chiefs now?

I realized that I had taken a ninety-degree turn (why do people say that instead of 180 degree turn? What I love are the 360 degree turns that people say sometimes...) when I told my girlfriend we were watching the Chiefs this weekend again. She said she wasn't sure she wanted to join me since I just get all agitated and scream at the TV during the games. I realized I'm not going to get agitated at all. I'm suddenly in 'evaluation mode'.

I for one, am happy to see the defense playing better, but I still don't believe they can keep us in games forever. I am happy to have a top ten defense, but haven't convinced myself they are anything near elite. So, when the defense can't stop the other team, I'm not too upset. When they do stop the other team, I'm still surprised.

And as for the defense, now I'm just watching Brodie and Priest. With half an eye on Niswanger (sp?). And hoping Brodie can feed the ball to Bowe.

I want us to win, but that is not the main thing for me anymore.

Maybe I'm crazy though...

How's the rest of ChiefPlanet's pulse?

4-5 Chiefs:

Chiefs | Croyle to start Week 11
Tue, 13 Nov 2007 06:51:25 -0800
The Associated Press reports Kansas City Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle will start the team's Week 11 game, according to head coach Herman Edwards. "You need a spark," Edwards said. "We've been in some contests now where we haven't had the ability to score points. That's part of your job as a quarterback, to put points on the board and move the football team. We've moved at times, but we've also been very inconsistent."

honest prediction looking into the remainder of our schedule...

7-9 I think we'll beat Oakland, SD, and NYJets. We'll probably lose one of these but on the flipside I think we'll win one we should lose.

The most important thing to me here is that we'll finally figure out whether we've got anything to work with in Croyle.

Rasputin 11-14-2007 03:47 PM

My expectations are now what my expectations were at the beginning of the season before they named Huard as starter ( :grr: )

Now we can watch Croyle grow as a QB and become "OUR OWN QB from the draft" that is what I've been wanting us to do since Joe Montana retired. I am very exited to see what Brodie can do for us and expect him to make mistakes, but learn from those mistakes. Brodie is starting out on a very bad offensive team. Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman started they're careers on bad football teams, they struggled alot during that season but only got better. I think the adversity of this season is going to make Croyle a better QB next year. My biggest expectation is the Brodie to D Bowe connection. If those two get on the same page together it is going to be huge for us and then other teams are going to be fuckED!!!

I think sunday our team hit rock bottem loseing to those Jack ASss. Now we get to start fresh with a young QB who has all of the potential to become our starter for years to come. Now we get to start building for a championship run for years to come. I don't want them to give up on Brodie becouse of INTs, he is going to throw plenty of them this year. So did Peyton & Aikman and ton of other QBs they're first year. I just want him to improve and progress & he should do just that.

This weekend is the first time I've been exited to watch my team  all year. I'm not worried about winning or loseing this game. I just want to watch what Brodie has too offer. I think he will do just fine. I've been waiting for Brodie to become our starting QB since we drafted him April 06. Now it is his turn and I hope he makes the best of it.

Expectations - Chiefs beat the Colts and "Herm" becomes the #1 baby name in Kansas City for both boys and girls.

Spott 11-14-2007 03:50 PM

Who cares. We have college football games to look forward to now.

chasedude 11-14-2007 03:51 PM

I have no expectations. Unfulfilled expectations just bring disappointment.

I expect the Chiefs will finish 6-10 (same as I predicted midway through the preseason); our Oline is just too terrible to overcome.

Beck is like 26, their version of Weinke
