$$$$$$$...He needs a new contract and they don't want to pay him what he can command.

Westbrook and a 2nd round pick would be a very good deal for Seattle considering how messing that could end up.

Joe Seahawk 03-15-2005 06:29 PM

He wants tons of cash in a long term contract, and the Seahawks are just not that enamored with him apparently.. Personally I think Westbrook would be a better fit for our offense..

Alexander comes out on 3rd down cause he can't/won't pick up pass rushers..

I think they are just smart enough to realize that if you have a good system in place you can get really good production at the RB position without breaking the bank....Most teams have figured that out...Just look at the Donks and Colts in addition to the Seahawks....Portis, Alexander and James are probably considered 3 of the top 5 or 6 RB's in the league and they all are willing to let them go.

Hey Joe, what do the Seahawks think of that kid you've got backing up Alexander. His name escapes me at the moment, but I've always thought he might be worth a look. He's a determined runner.

Maurice Morris.. He's got a lot of potential.. Hasn't proved he can be an every down back yet, but he's got good hands, decent speed and can block..

He also returns kicks as an added bonus.

I would not be comftorable going into next year with him as a starter though..

Joe... whats your take on Hartwell, you think he will sign there or do you think he is too expensive, I heard seattle doesnt want to overpay...? And to get him at this point they might have to, to match his offer...

Joe Seahawk 03-15-2005 07:10 PM

I kind of doubt the Seahawks will offer more than other teams at this point, but you never know..

Joe Seahawk 03-15-2005 07:21 PM

More activity! Looks like we are about to sign Herndon too.. I believe the Broncos can match our offer though if they choose..

The Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms today with free-agent defensive end Bryce Fisher.
Fisher is a Renton native who had 8 1/2 sacks for the St. Louis Rams last season. The Seahawks pursued him after their own defensive end, Chike Okeafor, signed with Arizona last week.

Fisher, 27, was expected to sign a four-year, $10 million contract with the Seahawks.

Seattle was also close to reaching agreement today with cornerback Kelly Herndon, a restricted free agent from the Denver Broncos.

Remember they have a receiving core that makes our look good when comes to catching the football.
