Not sure how this is possible, seeing as how Reid hasn't met with Arizona to get a number to drive up on KC, but interesting nonetheless. |

Andy Reid knows the QB position is key to winning. I'm sure he's intrigued by our first pick. Having the first pick can lure some good candidates for us. Andy Reid would be a good hire.
|
Well McNabb and Johnson both were major reasons. In reality that is what you want in your franchise... a proven winning QB and a very good DC. Once McNabb started going down hill and Johnson died, it made things tough for Reid in Philly. That is just a nature of the beast. Lets use ourselves as an example... we didn't have a QB and we had a horrible OC, which meant we really struggled.
|
Jesus i just love that every coach that Chunt is going to interview has a Pioli sideline to it. Why make it this hard?

When it says that Ferentz is meeting with the Chiefs today, that could mean that he and Scott are getting together for dinner tonight where they're going to try and figure out where it all went so wrong for both of them...and maybe Ferentz is in town to offer Iowa's AD position to Pioli. :)

Also, if you know agent Bob Lamonte's MO (reps Reid, Gruden, Holmgren), it sure looks like #Cardinals are the ones getting used. |

Arizona has 2 in house candidates for GM and the Cards wouldn't want Heckert to come with Reid. Haven't read anything else disputing the earlier reports that Heckert and Reid wanted to work together again. I would be very content with a Reid and Heckert combo. Would want Chip Kelly before Reid but that combo is probably my #2 preference. I hated the Weeden pick that Heckert made, but aside from that I think he had done a good job in Cleveland. I don't think him and Reid would pass on Geno. |

Jason Cole, Mort, several others are saying Reid wouldn't want to share power with Pioli. They can respect each other immensely but at the end of the day, Reid is going to get a TON of say. |

I hope that Clark realizes that a big name hire isn't going to change the fanbase's mind on Pioli. |

Pioli with Hunt for Atlanta interviews. Not sure if Pioli will be with Hunt to interview Reid in Philly...per Chris Mortensen.

If Reid comes to KC I'm not sure I want him involved in the draft. According to the following report he sucked at evaluating college talent:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-roseman-reid/ Now that the dust has settled on a dizzying day of terminations and quotes and rumors and reports, it’s time to search through the wreckage of quotes to look for hints at what may have happened in the past — and what could happen next. In Philadelphia, comments from owner Jeffrey Lurie suggest that the termination of coach Andy Reid was preceded by a determination that G.M. Howie Roseman would or should have more authority over the construction of the roster. Officially, Reid has had “final say” since the day he was hired, in 1999. Unofficially, Roseman acquired more influence in 2012, based on Lurie’s explanation regarding the manner in which Roseman’s role in a 1-11 collapse over the final three fourths of the season will be assessed. “I keep voluminous notes on talent evaluation on not just who we draft, but who is valued in each draft by each person that is in the organization that’s working here,” Lurie said. “I came to the conclusion that the person that was providing by far the best talent evaluation in the building was Howie Roseman. I decided to streamline the whole decision-making process for the 2012 draft and offseason and that’s the first draft and offseason I hold Howie completely accountable for. The mistakes that were made in the 2011 draft have little or nothing to do with Howie’s evaluations and I think it was important for me to own up to the mistakes that were made and understand where they were coming from and it was awfully clear.” In other words, Roseman was trying to get Reid to make other decisions in past years, and hindsight was proving Roseman to be right. And so if Roseman is accountable only for the 2012 draft, it means that Reid, was wisely deferring to the guy whom hindsight was proving to be right. It doesn’t mean that Roseman will now be in charge of the team. “The way I’ve operated is the way I’m going to operate and that is the new head coach, whoever that is, will report directly to me and that’s the only structure that I insist upon,” Lurie said. “As we go through the process, we have the flexibility to finalize personnel decisions and everything else that goes with the coach-G.M. relationship. But my goal is to have the coach and the General Manager work hand-in-hand and work collaboratively and work in a very, very terrific way together.” In other words, the next coach of the Eagles may not be running the show the way Reid was for 14 years. Or, possibly, for the first 13 of them. |

WOW!! This escalated quickly. Yesterday he was a lock to Arizona, now KC is hot...Yesterday IMO seems leverage play by Reids agent to drive up price for KC.

What's he ever done without Jim Johnson? Same thing Belichick did without Tom Brady. Nothing.

No. |
OP by the way its Schefter...not 2 Fs. lol sorry not language police just saying
|
That will be the interesting thing to see in how much overall power Reid would have? Then again one would assume he would still want the power he had before. That is why bringing in someone like Heckert who has worked with Reid before makes sense. At least Reid would be comfortable with the GM/HC relationship.
Hopefully a change in scenery and a different roster will refresh Reid's drafting abilities. |

No, Mort said he was A PART of the interviews today. It was likely an interview Pioli set up before Sunday night. Why wouldn't he be there?
|
Quote:
Pioli might be 'doing interviews in Atl' today... but he might be interviewing for a gopher job in the Falcons front office, since Andy Reid is coming to KC and Pioli is getting shit-canned. Schefter says Chunt went to Philly to talk to Reid. 'Hey Scott, stay here and hang out with Dirk Koetter; I gotta go grab a couple cheese steaks...' |
Quote:
|
None of those candidates in ATL were serious candidates, so it would make total sense to allow Pioli to conduct those interviews. Hell, we don't even know for sure if Clark was present.
Let Pioli waste all of the time that he wants and stay the **** out of the way of the adults who are doing real business. |

Just further affirmation that Pioli is here to stay

Deez that is my take. Let Pioli go talk to Koetter and Armstrong. Who is to say that these interviews weren't already pre-set by Pioli before the sh*t hit the fan with Clark? It was immediately once Romeo was fired, these guys were being announced as interviews. It is like Pioli leaked to the media... of course they are Falcon guys he knows that could work under him as he couldn't get anyone else of worth outside of the Patriot tree.

Romeo being gone was a done deal but Pioli's status was uncertain. Why? Because PIOLI TOLD PETER KING that he was going to fire Romeo no matter what happened with himself. Pioli has been eyeing HC candidates for several weeks, no doubt about it. |

Chunt created another cluster**** with this Pioli bullshit. So is every interview going to revolve around whether Pioli was there or not? Only the Cheaps could **** up and do things opposite of normal teams.
