[04/14/06] - Vicarious Leaked | Minneapolis Confirmed

We've gotten several emails that radio stations across the US are playing a 30-second teaser clip from "Vicarious". From what we understand, none of them will have the full track until Monday.

UPDATE: Well, "Vicarious" has leaked. Seems the record label was prepping to release the song Monday, sent online to radio stations. And it seems they left the FTP site unprotected for a few minutes. So now, naturally, it is all over the place. Do not ask us for it, because technically it is not supposed to be available yet, and technically it is stolen. We're just providing the info to keep you updated. §

OK, so we had the right venue ... but the wrong city? Tool will be playing the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis (not Boston) on May 12, according to TicketMaster. Tickets go on sale April 22 and will cost $63 a piece. Ouch.

UPDATE: No surprise, but Ticketmaster has now removed that page. §

Obvious 80s King Crimson influence with the guitar and bass, I like it.

For being their new "radio song", it sure doesn't stick in my head. After listening to it a few times, I still couldn't really remember how it went.

There was probably a more tactful way to construct the thread title...

Yeah, thats what it did for me too. I like the guitar at the very end.

It didn't hit me as hard as "The Grudge" but I still liked it alot.

Color me unimpressed. Sounds just like Lateralus' tracks.

I guess Aenima and earlier will be staying in my CD player.

they should stay there. tool has done nothing but grow, musically, in their years. this album should be as/more technical than lateralus IMO

They're bands that fit the description of "pissed off."

Me, I liek the track, even if I find it a little unmemorable. Being a fan of progressive music, if 10,000 days expands on the direction of Lateralus, then that's okay in my book.

Me too, Donger. Laterlus was very good, it just wasn't the hard TOOL that I like, except for Ticks and Leeches, but that had like a 3 minute slow part before it got hard again.

I heard Vicarious on the radio today after listening to Quiksilvers link last night, and it took me a while to realize I was listening to it. It is very "non-rememberable". The ending though is cool.

I read some interviews with Maynard where he said the early albums were a display and then a digestion of his anger, now he wants to move on from that. I'm sure Tool will always have atleast one pissed off song on their albums so i'm not too worried.

I think the radio track may be a shorter version. Kind of like what they did with Laturalus track.

Then why are you listening to Aenima? They're a little perturbed on that album, but hardly approaching "pissed off." More like, disturbed.
