I just remember the first few days there; the showering was done as a 'recruit carwash'. you stood in line with a dollop of Prell in your hand; walked through the first 4 shower heads to soap up, and the last 4 to rinse off. This dude walked out as I was in line, and I thought he had some sort of birth defect.

One of my roommates in college was like that. It kind of sucked for him because his girlfriend at the time couldn't handle it... thus he rarely got laid.

He's married with 6 kids now, though, so clearly his wife didn't have any such problems.

I think they plant one dude in every platoon to make us feel inadequate and kick off the brainwashing efficiently. I was in a lot of platoons early in my career.

We had a kid from Louisiana by the name of Spurlock. I probably remember the names of 5 or 6 bootcamp guys. Spurlock also bunked near me and got bitten by a brown recluse and dropped into the medical unit but I'm pretty sure I remember his name for other reasons.
