Cormac,

I kind of agree with you, by the way. I also half-expected that the flag was against the Seahawk lineman. After all, that guy came upon Hicks from behind. Hicks had to turn around to confront him. When the call went against Hicks, I was mad at Hicks for letting himself get caught up in such a situation in the first place, especially since it was in full view of the refs. If I were his coach, I probably would have told him, "I know the other guy started it, but you're not supposed to finish it--at least not in full view of the refs. There's a whole game left to get even with the bastard!"

DanT,

Exactly........I was hoping that the flag was against the Seahawk also, but Hicks should have known better. At that point of the game the Chiefs were doing a good job of throwing it away early.

My first thought was also what in the world is he thinking. We are going to need that timeout later. But then I saw the play and I immediately saw that the ball hit the ground. What amazed me (and always does) is that the announcers did not see it until about the seventh time it was shown.

And even then, Dan Fouts was the only one to acknowledge that it may not have been a catch. They did a quick about face when they finally blew up the picture and the ref had made the call.

I believe that this was the play of the game. It stopped the drive and turned the momentum. DA's catch was a very close second. IMO.

Good Call Gunther.<BR>
