Jantz won't get drafted and will never play a regular season snap.

Ceej 09-18-2012 10:25 PM

Apparently the Kansas City Chiefs have become the Wichita Wild.

If he continues to throw accurate and make good decisions this year, I wouldn't rule it out. The talent is there. If Iowa State wins 8+ games this year, a lot of that is because of him and I could see him getting drafted.

RealSNR 09-18-2012 10:33 PM

Ricky Stanzi takes shits bigger than this guy every morning

Because Ricky Stanzi is shit. Steele has led more 4th quarter comebacks putting the team on his back than Stanzi has, and in a 10th of the starts.

Bewbies 09-18-2012 10:35 PM

There's a greater Jantz that Pioli "takes a risk" on some scrub ass undrafted bum than taking a legitimate QB.

Which is why his ass needs to be fired.

BossChief 09-18-2012 10:37 PM

ROFL

Dude is complete trash that won't even get drafted.

RustShack 09-18-2012 10:41 PM

6-0 when completely healthy. Last year his three wins were all come from behind at the end, dude is clutch as hell. He didn't know the offense last year, this year he knows it and is executing well. Doesn't even have to use his legs to buy time and make miraculous plays like he had to last year. This year he looks like a completely different guy. Making great decisions, and very accurate. Definitely not the lost rookie he was last year.

RealSNR 09-18-2012 10:45 PM

Alex Tanney > Steele Jantz

RealSNR 09-18-2012 10:46 PM

If Steele is lucky maybe Seneca Wallace will give him his old underwear to sniff so Steele can feel special like a man

Ceej 09-18-2012 10:47 PM

Sounds like a helluva QB..

For arena football or the CFL.

jspchief 09-18-2012 10:49 PM

Jantz needs to go a season without getting benched before we can consider him an NFL prospect.

And good decisions? 6 tds to 4 ints?

KcMizzou 09-18-2012 10:57 PM

This is ISU's year. They'll win the Big 12. (again)

He wont get benched this year. He also only threw one bad INT. The others were balls that hit the receivers and were tipped. There have also been a few dropped TD's. For the most part he has done very well, completely different QB from last year. He still can't catch the ball for the receivers too though.

RustShack 09-18-2012 10:59 PM

Steele Jantz has also joined Sage Rosenfels and Seneca Wallace as Iowa State QB's to finish their careers unbeaten by rival Iowa.

Right now everybody seems to be unleashing their own golden hurricanes on this idea of drafting Steele Jantz

Because the field is like, 10 yds.

So, I guess, techincallly that is throwing it down the field.

First of all, I am an Iowa fan.

Second of all, I am not bitter.

Third of all, the Hawkeyes SUCK this year. Congrats on eeking out a win in spite of your QB, who tried his best to throw the game away.

ROFL ROFL ROFL

RealSNR 09-19-2012 08:04 AM

So if the dude DOES attain draft-worthy status, where will he go? 6th? 5th?

For the Chiefs, anything but a FIRST ****ING ROUND QB is not the solution to our problems at the position.

Yes, it has to be the first round. Dicking around with 2nd and 3rd rounders can net you Brodie Croyles. It's not ****ing worth it.

Invest the first rounder. Prove to the fan base you care. And get a real guy. Not Steele Jantz.

what a horrible choice....this homer stuff has got to stop

Saul Good 09-19-2012 08:31 AM

Dude hung a nine-spot on Iowa. We need to do whatever it takes to land this guy, even if it means trading away our entire draft or signing him as an UDFA.

boogblaster 09-19-2012 08:40 AM

well .. can he throw over 25 yards .....

ISUJeff 09-19-2012 08:42 AM

Agree, the best he could somehow work his way up to is a 5th, 6th, 7th. Another Stanzi, Killian, probably not even Croyle potential.

Not what is needed in KC (unless it's the 2nd QB taken in 2013 after dumping Cassel and Quinn)

Edit: Really 7th is probably a very "glass half full" outlook. Some nice physical tools, but worse decisions than even Stanzi (so far)

In58men 09-19-2012 08:48 AM

Just for further clarification, half of that was in overtime when you start from the other team's 25 yard line, and the Clones also managed to run for 200 yards in that game.

The Franchise 09-19-2012 09:50 AM

Geno Smith.

He was magical last year, no doubt. But his running game was nails that day and they scored a couple of TDs during overtime as well.

The rest of his season last year was, well, history...

That's because you still haven't been able to accept that Todd Reesing isn't an NFL QB after all these years

Steel Hawthorne: Yeah, Steel Hawthorn.

So you're saying there's a Jantz?

That Steele's ass will be riding the pine in Ames?

Ames, Ia. -- Who will play quarterback for Iowa State this Saturday at Texas Christian?

It could be Steele Jantz, or Jared Barnett… or both.

Coach Paul Rhoads says he will watch practices this week before deciding if Jantz will remain the starter. He also left open the possibility of using more than one quarterback, as was the case last season against Texas A&M.

jspchief 10-06-2012 08:01 PM

How did Jantz do today?

Oh, nvm

RustShack 10-06-2012 08:58 PM

Talents there, he just couldn't put it all together like so many others. He either looks great, or real bad.... real real bad.
