Go.

Ignore weird emphasis. Still on a royals win high.

Goonies 2 with the kids all as adults mentoring their offspring seems like a sure fire winner.

I'd like to see the sequels to the Matrix redone from the ground up (including a total rewrite of the story).

Buck 08-05-2013 10:36 PM

Not really a movie, but I'd like to see more Dr. Horrible.

listopencil 08-05-2013 10:44 PM

Dune and Starship Troopers need reboots that are closer to the source material.

Bummer they aren't planning on continuing the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

Really, the 2nd and so far 3rd book are as good or better. And Mara is perfect for that role.

Pepe Silvia 08-06-2013 12:02 AM

I'm going to get buried for this but Kung Pow:Enter The Fist. They were supposed to make Tongue of Fury but never did. ROFL

Last I had heard, Fincher was back into the sequel, The Girl That Played With Fire. He's out of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea due to the box office disappointments of both John Carter and The Lone Ranger. Disney no longer wanted to put up $200 million plus for a film destined to not find an audience.

The biggest issue now is scheduling. With Bond 24 set to shoot soon, Daniel Craig's availability is now in question. It all depends on when a suitable script is accepted.

I would think 20,000 leagues would have a better chance of drawing the audience it needs. Why is they think they have to throw $200 million at all these movies anyway?

Owl Creek Bridge.

Bicycle Thieves.

I'm still waiting for History of the World Part II and Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League.

They should do Godfather as an HBO series. Really would just be The Sopranos from the NY side of things.

Dune needs to be an HBO miniseries, produced by the GOT people. I think they'd get it right. So far it's been completely butchered.

Fatal Attraction (Remake)
Super Troopers (Sequal)
Beerfest (Sequal)
Any Given Sunday (Either a remake or sequal)

mikey23545 08-06-2013 09:19 AM

We need another series of Star Trek TOS movies.

Use CGI to replace the original actors (Shatner, Nimoy, Kelley, Doohan, etc). It looks like they have the technology to make it pretty damn realistic, and it would be awesome to see Star Trek with the old cast reassembled (well, sort of).

I guess they could still use Shatner to voice his part, but the rest would have to be done digitally. I don't know if that is possible or not.

I know this is nothing but a pipe dream, but I simply can't stand these reboot reeruns they're using now to make the new ST.

They should remake the Running Man in a darker style without the cornball schtick.

Aries Walker 08-06-2013 09:42 AM

Oh, also, The Sword and the Sorcerer. The closing credits promised a sequel which we never got.

I think they'll be probably there in a couple of years, but they're not quite there yet. The CGI young Jeff Bridges in Tron Legacy was..... okay, and you could tell it was supposed to be young Jeff Bridges, but it was obviously not a real person.

At any rate, I'd rather see a shaky quality Shatner or Nimoy, than watch something like Uhura and Spock making out, a little alien/teddy bear running around engineering, or a 20 year old commanding the flagship of Star Fleet...

frankotank 08-06-2013 11:00 AM

I'd love to see a Lost Boys reboot.
yes I know there are two sequels (I sadly know way too much about both) but they suck.
did you know the original idea for a sequel was gonna be the Lost Girls?
did you know that David didn't actually die at the end of the Lost Boys? the antlers missed his heart. he showed up a comic series that was supposed to be a bridge between the Lost Boys and The Tribe.

I want a remake.
I love the original.

I'd watch a Firefly movie.

Baby Lee 08-06-2013 11:29 AM

Captain America is in desperate need of a reboot, but it's already in the midst of one. That shit from the 90s was dire.

As much as Ray Harryhausen is revered, I can't stand that stop motion shit. I recognize the level of work and that it was a labor of love, but man, what I see on the screen I put on par with Ed Wood. or Gumby if I'm being generous.

Lprechaun 08-06-2013 11:46 AM

Napolean Dynamite
Nacho Libre
two of my favorite comedies and both could continue on with the story and be hilarious.

They should do another Rocky movie where Rocky is again coaxed out of retirement, but this time it is to train Apollo Creed's son.

Never mind, that's too stupid to be seriously considered.

Although if they had Creed's son fight Ivan Drago's son, I think they might have something there...

I've never understood the problem with three, outside of Sofia (who really didn't bother me). It wasn't as good as its predessors but IMO, it's a very good movie. I thought the casting of Garcia and Mantegna were excellent.

On a side note, every time I run into Mantegna (anywhere from the Rainbow to Costco and several other places) I always greet him with "Zaza", to which he smiles.

:D

I enjoy the old Sinbad movies, as well as Jason and the Argonauts, far more than the recent shitfests starring Sam Worthington as Perseus.

Actually, Sinbad would be cool to reboot, although the audience might not exist to justify a $100 million dollar film.

I'd like to see a good movie based on a video game or on Dungeons & Dragons. I didn't see Prince of Persia, so maybe it's already been done, but as an earlier generation guy, I would have liked to see them do a better job with the D&D movie they made in 2000 or the DOOM movie they did in 2005.

They're starting on a Warcraft movie already. $100m Budget, live Action with a ton of CG. It's going to be produced by Legendary/Warner Bros and Duncan Jones will be directing it.

Im curious to see how it turns out. Warcraft's lore is very, very deep. You'd need a LoTR type trilogy to tell the whole story. This movie will be either very bad or very good. No in between imo.

I think its sort of got the same problem Lone Ranger has. Its an old stale property, that isnt relevant to todays younger audiences. But then again, they did use Jules Verne as a basis for those Mysterious Island movies. But those had lower budgets im sure....

I agree. Their problem was that they hired a director that was a fan of D&D, but just not very good. They also put it in a setting that had no fan base, and made it more or less full of silly kid's stuff - pre-Lord of the Rings, that's pretty much how all of medieval fantasy was treated.

But yeah, it could have been tons better. Give it to someone like Guillermo del Toro.
