The fact taht no one has been released yet is a pretty damning thing for this regime. There is about to be an absolute axe fall on it.

And from what I've heard, the people in the organization love Marc Donovan and he's gonna be here for a long time. Those I've talked to think, once Pioli and his antics are gone, Donovan can have the fans back to where we were in the Chiefs "prime" years, very quickly.

My thoughts exactly

To add: In a season this dismal there is always a scapegoat fired; hell, Cam Cameron was fired from the playoff-bound Ravens. No one has been fired from the Chiefs. Adios ****ers!

This is also something people need to remember.

These guys are all tied to Pioli. If you fire one, you have to fire them all. Therefor, wait it out, do your due diligence behind the scenes so that when you do fire them, you have your next plan in place.

Clark Hunt may be alot of things. But stupid isn't one of them.

Carolina fired their GM to appease Cam Newton - it wasn't directly tied to salvaging THIS season but it was an "immediate" reaction as opposed to something they were doing for the "future".

Yep.

In regards to the fanbase and whether this has been irreparable damage, I don't think so. And this is gonna go back to Mark Donovan and how good he is at his job, but if you fire this football side regime this offseason, bring in a big name coach, draft a QB first overall, this city will absolutely go back to being the full on ravenous fanbase that it desperately wants to be.

Put a winner on the field and this city will be there in droves. It's nuts about its sports teams.

This is something that Pioli has pissed down his leg on. The city wants to feel like its part of the team. Thats what made the 90's so special. Like previously mentioned, the fanbase felt it had a direct hand in winning and losing and took losing personal. It doesn't take much for that to happen, access to the team wise. But completely turning them off to the fans has turned the fanbase against them, which in this town is harder to do than putting a winner on the field.

I dont know who these guys are outside of twitter but they should have a radio show on the regular. I'm not sure they would make friends with the FCC but it would be a great listen. Does anyone else know who these guys are? (His Dirkness and Ryan S. Hall)

Luzap 12-13-2012 09:29 AM

His Dirkness is a regular contributor over at Arrowhead Pride.

Luz
pretty good takes on the chiefs...

Disagree to an extent. If PIOLI is fired, they all go. In my opinion, if DaBoll were fired now, it'd be as a scapegoat, and be might be saddled with Pioli/Crennel for another year...

That's exactly what he was saying...

You know if that text thing is true Haley is a really big asshole.

The police dash cam even mentions a person negotiating with Belcher when they arrive. Pioli hasn't even spoken to the media since then.

Lastly who the **** cares 48 hours after the incident about who's trying to take credit for being the good guy? Shouldn't you be more concerned about the families involved?

I agree pretty much with the whole post except the part in bold.

Pioli has spoken to Peter King.

This was an excellent listen, many thanks.

The only thing i really disagreed with Nick about, is the question of "gee, what do you do with the #1 pick when theres no consensus #1 QB available?"

Its easy in my opinion, you take the QB who best fits what the new coach is doing, no matter what anyone else says, you take a QB number one to make a STATEMENT if nothing else.

The statement that says "we're going to start investing in QB's like never before, we're dead serious about finding a top player at that position, we're going to consistently do what it takes to make sure we have one, we're going to join the modern NFL"

quarterback, Quarterback, QUARTERBACK
