And then it digressed back into the trade and the issue of what our record would be without the trade, Anibal Sanchez, how the Royals are on everyone's no trade list, and that Rany thinks chemistry in the clubhouse is overrated.

Oh yeah, and Willie Bloomquist.

I believe the Bereavement list is in the CBA and the team doesn't have a choice. I don't know if he's officially on that list though, but it gives him between 3-7 days.

Here's the ridiculous thing about the Maxwell bereavement thing: His grandma died 2 weeks ago, and they've been waiting for a time to get everyone together on a schedule that "worked for everyone" (she had something like 60 grandkids.)

I'm sorry, but the Detroit series "doesn't work" for Maxwell's schedule. Unless one of the other grand kids is President of the United States or keeps people alive, schedule another time?!?

According to J.J. Cooper of Baseball America, 2012 first round pick Kyle Zimmer will be shut down for the rest of 2013 due to shoulder stiffness suffered in his last start. According to Bob Dutton, the Royals are denying Cooper’s report but conceding that with the time left on the year, it is a “likely” option.
