Worst possible outcome...

It's not so much that it's necessary that they have the 1st pick. It's their evaluation of their picks that bother me. Their picking the wrong guys. The scouting under Pioli has been absolute shit. Someone should of been shit canned years ago. Hell they would of never took a guy like Kapernick probably because he has too many tattoos. :spock:

I can't really fault them for that. I wouldn't have taken Kapernick, either, not in the range we're talking about.

Drafts are funny though, especially when you look at the top of the draft... hell, the rookie cap makes things much easier for teams. And, if you have a big need at a given position (say QB) and you take him 10-12 spots higher than the experts project, so be it. If that's your need - go fill it.

He was taken late in the 2nd rnd last year. They knew then we needed a QB. Who did we take in the 2nd that's even seeing the field?

The next two weeks loom large for us.

This really easy to calculate for two teams in the same division since their schedules are near identical.

Difference 1. Chiefs play the Raiders while the Raiders play the Chiefs. But we don't care about the tiebreaker unless the have identical records. These cancel out.

Diffence 2. AFC east opponents. We play the Bills while the
Raiders play Miami. Small difference by the end of the season.

Difference 3. AFC South opponents. We play the Colts while the Raiders play Jacksonville. The Colts are going to have a much stronger record than Jax by the end of the season. This difference will be decisive.

We will have the stronger SOS and will draft after the Raiders if we are tied.

The thought of Geno Smith in silver and black makes me sick.

We need to lose these next two games really badly.

It's just as good until Geno and Wilson are both gone.

Then it goes back to Aaron Murray and Matt Barkley.

No me gusta

ROYC75 12-04-2012 01:00 AM

We want Geno, we can not win another game.

Jacksonville will not win another game this year!

That may be a bit premature, They could compete against the Jets, Dolphins and Titans.
