New York Jets Interested In Geno Smith?

New York Jets Interested In Geno Smith?

Former West Virginia Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith is widely regarded as the top quarterback in the 2013 NFL Draft class and he has been receiving interest from a number of teams that are selecting in the top ten. The most recent team to throw their hat in the mix for Smith is the New York Jets.

Jets senior personnel executive Terry Bradway and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg attended Smith’s Pro Day at West Virginia.

Not only did Bradway and Mornhinweg attend the Pro Day, but they spent private time with the quarterback, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York. According to Cimini’s report, the Jets contingent came away impressed.
The question is whether or not the Jets would trade up in the draft to acquire Smith, since he will likely be off the draft board before the Jets pick at No. 9.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals have already expressed their interest in Smith, so New York would have to make a move if they would like to land the WVU product. That is highly unlikely.

Expect the Jets to move forward with Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy and Tim Tebow as their quarterbacks.

The positive news for New York fans? The Jets seem to be looking at their options at the position moving forward.

Prepare for the Jets to select #1 overall in 2014 then.

Short memory? I came here AS a Geno fan because I thought the Chiefs were taking him. Any anti Geno comments I made were just to **** with his cult like members. It's like when you go to a church of LDS just to laugh at the Mormons.

The closer we get to draft day the less I am going to read articles than end with a question mark.

"Chiefs to pick a good player in the draft?"

"Ravens interested in picking a defensive player?"

Please show as much as possible, it will only drive up the price for our pick.

This seems dated. What about Garrard?

hummm ....

B14ckmon 03-25-2013 10:30 AM

I say 0 chance they trade up for a QB. Sanchez is making a ****load of money this year. With their cap situation, trading up to take a QB at #1 would basically handcuff the rest of their draft.

Pasta Little Brioni 03-25-2013 10:50 AM

Shit, this is as bad as if Como was interested. Does it offset the curse since he doesn't like Geno?

BossChief 03-25-2013 10:51 AM

I doubt we would move down to 9 if we want one of the three OTs.

This board has become a troll haven.

31 more days. The simmer should be working towards boil, soon. It may not be the best catbird seat year. Still want to try and enjoy it.

Geno Smith:

Good enough for every team picking in the top ten except the Kansas City Chiefs.
