Question for the computer savvy

I haven't been able to view video clips for the last couple days on any web site, much less this site.

I receive a message saying either I need to enable Javascript or download the newest version of Flash Player. The problem is I've never been able to download Flash Player from Adobe's web site. It just won't work.

What do I need to do?

Do you have "Enable Javascript" selected in your browser preferences?

I don't know where to find that option.

Gently tap your PC with a sledgehammer.

I had the same thing crop up.................

last month. None of the problems listed by the affected sites were present. I used system restore to a date previous. Problem solved.

Are you using explorer or firefox?

I find this works better with a rubber sledgemallet.

Look in your menu items for "Preferences." Select that, then look for "Content," and select that. The radio button to turn Javascript on or off should be there.

That's usually what I do whenever something gets flaky on me, it's a friggin' godsend.

Now it won't let me restore my computer to an earlier date. The only option is for right now.

I remember that happening to me one time too. Problem is, I don't remember what I did to rectify the situation. Did you try more than one date?

It won't let me pick another date.

I dunno then, system restore usually fixes little quirks like this. I suppose I'd run a virus and spyware scan just for fun, if you haven't already. After that, you've pretty much reached the extent of my computer savviness.
