I agree. Laura Prepon really is terrible in this so far, 5 eps watched. Had a minor quibble with the screw driver mishap.

Spoiler!

Holy crap! Quite an ending to season one.

Spoiler!

Watched the 1st episode, pretty decent.

Netflix needs to do a better job of getting the word out about their new series- I just happened to come across it by chance. Even if they don't wanna do radio, tv spots or internet ads, I would think they would feature or draw more attention to it when you get to the Netflix main screen?? Maybe its just the Roku interface that's weak in showcasing stuff because I've not even seen a push to showcase that House of Cards or Arrested Development's new season is available- though they did do traditional media promoing for those 2 and all. But, this show and that other horror original series that's supposed to be dogshit get not even a peep of promo buzz???

Great show so far. I've only finished two episodes. Holy crap, Janeway/Mulgrew has changed alot.

I'm 4 shows in and while I didn't enjoy it as much as "House Of Cards" it wasn't meant to be a straight drama.

I like the story, and I do like how much they do get right about prison life. I suspect the writer/s had some time in. I think my biggest gripe is how when they transition from drama to humor they completely break from credibility.

They didn't have to do that.

It's based on a book titled "Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison "

That said my guess would be the "money" had their say and changed a few things.

Funny thing is I like (I'd give it 4 NETFLIX stars) the show but have no desire to work in a women's pen or read about one...

Eh, me neither. Just saying you were right when you said, "I suspect the writer/s had some time in."

No sh@t. Just finished watching it. That was great. Mr. Healy truly pissed me off.

I really liked it, just finished the season.

Same here.

There's a lot I can look at and say that they've put time in. Much of this is authentic.

Some parts aren't but that's "based on a true story" stuff that get's ****ed up once you have producers and directors.

What I did like was that bridge between "normal" life and "inside life." Ok in one is not ok in the other and the show did a good job illustrating that...

You read a book about women in prison?

Shocking...

RealSNR 08-09-2013 04:23 PM

Finished episode 3. Like it a lot.

Jason Biggs is by far the worst character on the show. Then again, I also ****ing hate Jason Biggs.

I think alot of people fail to realize that. There is just way different rules when your inside. Ive known alot of people who have been inside and alot of them dont like to talk about the shit they had to do. Me being Mexican and in Cali, it can get brutal just trying to survive in there.

You have no choice unless you want to be a bitch or dead.
