Tim Burton, Abraham Lincoln and vampires? All at the same time?

I'm there.

I think Burton is one of the few filmmakers who can get away with this combo. I think I'll see it too.

Oooh, let me guess: Johnny Depp as Abe and Helena Bonham-Carter as Mary Todd.

It's really starting to get old, isn't it? That's one Hollywood three-way that needs to dissolve for about 10 years.

This sounds as bad as the Attack of the Killer Klownz from Outer Space.

Ebolapox 03-03-2010 08:18 PM

ya know, I'd like to see the remake by quintin tarantino ten years after this bombs.

that movie has a pretty big cult following it isnt that bad but I would def see it if the casting is right... Liam Neeson should be Lincoln since spielberg movie wont ever come out

First off, that is, IMO the best thread title in atleast 3 months.

Secondly... really? trying to somehow tie Abe Lincoln into the new vampire craze?.

As a director/artist, Tim Burton is a one trick pony...are these kinds of films all he ever wants to do?

Still dont understand all the vampire hype. I think it's really gay.

This vampire fad has been going on for the past 30 years, I don't why it's getting so much news media attention now.

Crush 03-03-2010 11:44 PM

Hopefully, Honest Abe will take a detour and stuff some garlic down that Twilight-pillowbiting-poor-excuse-of-a-vampire's throat.

It's funny how it ebbs and flows ... like the pulse of hot, living blood through a young virgin's veins.

There have been several pop culture "ups" ... when the first Dracula movie was made (the silent one - Nosferatu, maybe?) - that was huge, then about 15 years later when Bela Lugosi re-created the role, then about 40 years after that when Anne Rice's books started hitting the shelves, and now today.

The entire concept of Dracula is rich with ambiguity and symbolism ... especially of the highly sensual sort, so it makes sense that the idea will simply not die.
