Sherron makes the league.
Bobcats bring in Collins to help with PG depth
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — After a successful stint with Charlotte's summer league team, the Bobcats have reached a deal with undrafted rookie Sherron Collins to help with depth at point guard. The two-year deal is not guaranteed, but has two triggers before January that would allow him to make the full amount of the league-minimum contract. Collins is in Charlotte to sign the deal on Friday. The former Kansas product will join D.J. Augustin and newly signed Shaun Livingston as point guards on Charlotte's roster. The Bobcats lost last year's starter, Raymond Felton, to New York in free agency. Collins closed the Orlando summer league last month with 32 points and hit 7 of 11 3-pointers for Charlotte against the Magic. |
figured he'd get signed somewhere.

This just gets him into pre-season games right? I think alot of guys sign these two year non-guaranteed contracts. I wouldn't celebrate yet. Some of those pre-season rosters are 20 guys deep.

congrats to him ... hopefully he will work hard and make it.

I think the 2 or 3 year contract is for people they want to retain for long evaluations. The short-term looks are signed to renewable 10 day contracts if I'm not mistaken.

So what happened to Clemente? Wasn't he in Charlotte as well during the summer league?
