Smith negotiations a smokescreen - IMO

Anyone else believe a deal is in place for Smith but that both camps agreed to put up a smokescreen to try to get teams to leap over KC t take a QB thus allowing another player to drop?

I expect they'll announce Smith's extension shortly after the draft. Its also not a stretch to think Hali will be shopped throughout the night.

They were concerned Dee Ford wouldn't be available at 23?

I buy it... not.

If you want your guy and he's two picks away just go get him. The Chiefs did it with Branden Albert and Tony Gonzalez, and that seemed to work out ok. Of course, it also netted them Ryan Sims, but there's no need to overvalue a marginal round pick so much if you feel like there is a real impact player you can get.

The only thing that serves to do is to increase the value of the 22nd pick, not the 23rd pick.

Yeah, we really needed an upgrade from Miller and Ware. Ford would have been perfect.
