I know only a handful of people care.

USA Women, #1 in the world, lost to Norway 2-0.

USA Men beat Japan 1-0 this morning.

I was flipping through the channels last night and saw this. I was thinking to myself I thought this all started on Friday. The opening ceremony is Friday correct? I actually want to see it. Someone the other day was saying they have spent over 300 million putting it together. That's crazy, for what.... a 45 minute show.

It does, but due to you needing at least 2 days of rest in between soccer games, they had to start early.

I don't know WHAT's up with the WNT.

Big win for the Men, though, especially with Holland and Nigeria drawing.

Not a soccer fan. But it is the Olympics so I watched the gals get whooped by Norway.

Indoor soccer can be exciting. Outdoor, snoozefest.

No. Group stages, then single elimination.

Each group has 4 teams, the top 2 advance. It's a points system. A win gives you 3 points, a tie gives you 1 point and no points for a loss. In the event of a tie in overall points, they use goal differential.

Right now, the USA is winning their group.

I don't either. Maybe losing Wambach killed their motivation.

We need an Official Olympics Thread. Im guessing some of the events start tonight? China is 13 hours ahead of Central time.

Anyone know when wrestling is on?
