"Right in my wheelhouse" trend?

Just curious if any of you all have started hearing this idiom a lot more lately? It started with a guy at my work that was using it a lot. Then a guy who I know socially (totally unrelated to the work guy) started using it. Now a friend in St. Louis just sent me an email that used it.

Anyone have any clue about why this saying has resurged? Used by a sportcaster? On a reality show? Etc..?

Prior to the last year, I'm not sure I'd ever even heard the saying before.

I've heard it in baseball for years.

Been around for years. I occasionally use it... Haven't noticed it being a trend.

So you're count of people using it is up to 3... Think it's just you. ;)

Maybe it's a result of baseball playoffs beginning and more people starting to closer attention to the sport.

Another friend knows two of the three guys, and he commented as well when the second one used the phrase in a facebook post. He was like, "X sounds like Y."

I used to. Quit using it about 2 years ago. Sorry. Cannot help. Maybe NWA really is that far behind the social trend curve?

I think more people are living in trailer parks due to the economy.

It's in the first line of Brad Paisley's new song too.

Old saying, and I have used it from time to time, but cannot say that I have heard it more lately than I ever have.
