Driver help
So I bought this HP 4600 workshop and put a clean windows xp install on it and for the life of me I can't get the ethernet driver to work. I don't see any prerequisites to it, but every time I try to run the file off a flash drive I just get like a one second flash of a small DOS window. Has anyone else ever had anything similar happen?

Try a Taylor Made driver
|
Are you sure it didn't install?
The dos flash is the driver installer running and finishing very quickly. Try running it again by starting a command prompt and running the driver installer from there. You'll be able to see any status or error messages that are printed. |

Open a CMD prompt and run the app from the command line, that way you can actually see the output. |

Then just type the name of the file and hit enter. Did you download the driver from the HP website? |
Drag the file from the flash drive to the Desktop.

Is this the file you are trying to install?

Windows XP? What year is it?
Am I in a time warp? |
It's an executable file. Not sure what other advice to offer, something is messed up with your computer.
You could always try original manufacturer drivers. |
Do you have malware? Can you run any other executables?
