Should the day after the Super Bowl be a national holiday?

For some reason, this has been a popular topic today on a few different social medias.

Buck 02-04-2013 01:26 PM

No. Why should it?

Is July 5th a national holiday?

Dr. Johnny Fever 02-04-2013 01:26 PM

I find that a silly idea. Silly Sillyness.

Or March 18th?

Hell, why not the day after the BCS Championship? Most years, I'm more interested in watching that than I am the Super Bowl.

No. Your choice to get drunk and gourge yourself on food.

lcarus 02-04-2013 01:35 PM

It'd be awesome if it was so I voted yes. Pretty much any time you ask me if I should get a day off work for any reason at all, I'll vote yes.

I went with no.

There are still a lot of people out there that dont even care about the Super Bowl

Graystoke 02-04-2013 01:37 PM

I like the idea. I had two people call in sick on me.
Sick the day after the Super Bowl....ya right.

I takee every march 18th off
after seeing flogging molly the night before
and drinking waaaay to many Smithwicks

GloryDayz 02-04-2013 02:38 PM

Oh hell yes! There's never a bad reason to create a national holiday and have people out shopping (since retailers rarely get such days off) and further stimulate the economy!

HemiEd 02-04-2013 02:42 PM

Yes it should. Football is who we are and what we have become, and there is nobody around here that is worth a crap today anyway.

Easy 6 02-04-2013 02:44 PM

NO, and i only say that because my job wouldnt honor it... so if i cant get the day off, NO ONE DOES!

cosmo20002 02-04-2013 02:45 PM

A ridiculous question, if serious, but it would probably make more sense than Columbus Day.

Mojo Rising 02-04-2013 02:46 PM

I think they should move the game to Saturday and push it back an hour. What is the difference between 13 or 14 days off in between games?

michaelj_58 02-04-2013 02:47 PM

Yes,I didn't want to go in today anyway!!!!!!!

kcfanXIII 02-04-2013 02:52 PM

No, we are mostly responsible adults and should be aware of the impending date with the time clock, and maybe not party so hard when that date is less than 24 hours away. If you insist on eating wings and drinking beer to the point of incapacitation, plan accordingly and take the day off ahead of time.

Molitoth 02-04-2013 02:55 PM

Any day off work is a good day off work.

I work in America for a German company. It's insane how much time off the Germans allow themselves. They go on "holiday" and aren't back in the office for at least a month.

This is a good idea imo.

Beef Supreme 02-04-2013 03:00 PM

I voted yes, but they would probably just give bankers and government employees the day off and the rest of us would be ****ed.

ChiliConCarnage 02-04-2013 03:11 PM

I'm fine with this as long as we include the first two days of March Madness.

007 02-04-2013 03:47 PM

New Years Eve should be a national holiday so I wouldn't have to work the damn thing.

penchief 02-04-2013 03:49 PM

It's a ridiculous notion considering that election day should be a national holiday before just about anything else...

Just watch Goodell will move it to Thursday to up the ratings even more.

tooge 02-04-2013 04:25 PM

Yes. We have one for Christopher Columbus, and all he did was get lost looking for India, land in North America and call the natives "indians", and then proceed to give everyone syphillis. AND, he wasn't even the first European to come here.

But, we can't have one for an event that 8 out of 10 households partake in? What gives (says a guy that is at work and all his friends took the day off due to hangovers)

I used think Europeans were nuts; I'm not so sure anymore...
