Chiefs have the #1 scoring defense in football after 5 weeks

We are only allowing 11.6 points per game...even more impressive is that the second place team is NE at 14 ppg. That's a sizable lead.

Some other rankings after 5 weeks...

1st in sacks
1st in passes defensed
1st in defensive touchdowns
1st in recovered fumbles
3rd in interceptions
7th in yards allowed per game
4th in pass yards allowed per game
21st in rush yards allowed per game (Philly game skewed this one)

Translation: the defense is killin it

And this after bringing in a HC who's known as a great offensive mind. The D just needs to keep doing what they're doing.

The O is going to get better.

I was nervous about Sutton when they hired him because he was unknown.

I love the aggressive defense he brought with him, and not only does it fit our personnel, he has used it to highlight our star players, and let them play!

We're winning with defense.

The Chiefs were # 3 in NFL Network's overall power rankings today. Donks were 1 & Saints were 2. Thank you Defense.

So you were wrong about the defense?

Yeah nice to see coaches adjust to what they have and make the most of it for a change. Hammering square pegs into round holes hasn't worked here for the last 10 years.

This is a Super Bowl caliber defense.

Like (our) old days. Dominating D, electric crowd... and an offense that at the least... won't **** it up.

saphojunkie 10-08-2013 07:14 PM

This offense is going to catch up at some point. Dear lord we need more playmakers than just Sean McGrath.

I absolutely hated the idea.

This is like being wrong about how many times the wife will give you a hummer this week (and it's 4x what you expected! Giggity!)

Fritz88 10-08-2013 07:17 PM

So who is replacing Sutton next season after he gets a HC job?
