The biggest fails in sports history
There have been some huge fails in sports with decision making. But one thing that I notice is that nobody ever talks about how the Chargers let Brees walk into free agency. He's gonna go down as top 5 of all time IMO. I think he's winning another Superbowl this year, he's just that good and he's in the zone.
You have the Herschel Walker debacle, Babe Ruth going to the yankees, Falcons trading Favre, Hornets trading Kobe and the Chargers letting Brees go. but nobody ever talks about Brees. Why? |
Palko over Stanzi or Orton.

Oh, I thought this was another Cassel thread...

The whole Ricky Williams thing... Trading a whole draft for a RB? C'mon coach, wtf?

And the Dolts commemorated it by giving them Sproles

Because of Rivers, obviously.

and the Blazers drafting Sam Bowie over MJ LMAO |
At the time, it was the right decision by SD to let him go. Brees had just had shoulder surgery, so the Saints were actually taking a risk signing him.

While they regret letting Brees go, I dont' think anyone would fault them for doing it. They couldn't afford to give two mammoth contracts for their QB--they chose to go for the guy who had less health concerns. In my opinion, coaching more than anything has held the Chargers back, not QB play. |

No one could have ever predicted Brees would be this good.
C'mon, a 6' spread QB from Purdue? |
