Modern Family

Just curious if anybody watches...

Never had, but I ended up watching some reruns on USA a month or two ago and now I'm hooked. Can't get enough of it.

Thought the new episode in Las Vegas on Wednesday was pretty much wall-to-wall hilarious, one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

Dayze 03-28-2014 01:12 AM

We've watched it since the beginning; we saw previews and figured 'what the hell' and watched it.

it's by far one of the funniest, if not the funniest, comedy on network TV> I've read that the writers alternate writing each show. EVERY single character on that show is perfect for their roles.

I've read that Luke, the Dunphy's boy, is a Mensa member in real life. So many great lines in that show. anyone who hasn't seen it I highly recommend it

I love it too. Not as epic as ginger/maryann but who you got Claire or Gloria?
There was an episode where Claire was going out on the town and wore a short dress and that changed my thinking a bit.

I would take Happy Gilmore Claire over Gloria but otherwise, Gloria.

To me she is the perfect age now 44. Course I am an old fart of 54 hence my 40 plus preference.

Dayze 03-28-2014 01:47 AM

I'd wreck Claire personally. I think she'd be the type that would want to bang nasty when she wakes up and still look good.

Gloria loooks like a butthole wihtout makeup.

You do realize that Gloria is 40 right?

Dayze 03-28-2014 01:55 AM

LMAO

Gloria would look like a shitbag in the morning. That's all I was saying. If a chick is laying next to me in the morning I'd rather it be Claire

keg in kc 03-28-2014 02:06 AM

That's sort of like saying you'd rather win the $5 million lottery than the $4.99 million lottery.

You ain't winning either. And you'd be happy waking up next to a cardboard cutout of Gloria.

Just give him the dog in the french maids outfit. LMAO

keg in kc 03-28-2014 02:12 AM

That whole sequence at the end about made me laugh my ass off. ROFL

And then Stephen Merchant says the line about the guys in kilts reminding him of his grandfather....because he was scottish? No, because he was a stripper. LMAO

CoMoChief 03-28-2014 04:03 AM

lmao to all the weirdos complaining about how Gloria would look the next morning.

Her body is eleventy billion times better than Claire's (don't get me wrong I'd nail her too - she's a fox).

But while others would complain, I'd be rockin' that bitch from behind, and then would snuggle up in those titties til it was time for her to get up and cook me some bacon n eggs.

Silock 03-28-2014 05:07 AM

I'm not attracted to Gloria. Claire, hell yes. Don't know why. Giant tits just don't do it for me. Her face is nothing special, either.

Omaha?

Just kidding. I agree.

Zebedee DuBois 03-28-2014 04:43 PM

I hadn't seen this show until it started on USA. It is fabulous and I think the actors that do Claire and Phil are exceptional comic actors.

SAUTO 03-28-2014 04:51 PM

Seen it since the beginning, great ****ing show

"Wall-to-wall hilarious" was a good description of several of the episodes I've seen. I can't think of another show that makes me laugh out loud as much.

Fritz88 03-29-2014 12:09 PM

The earlier seasons were better. Now it's just the same old story lines with different twists. Not as funny as it used to be.

It's been a solid show throughout, but the first season was really outstanding.

I've only seen reruns so I don't really know what seasons they come from, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was hard to keep up the pace of the best episodes. I haven't seen enough of them to detect the staleness yet though.

Which reminds me of a general thought I've had watching reruns of this and other shows. After the first dozen episodes or so, it seems like every time I watch it (and I don't watch it with any regularity), I've already seen it. I know this can't be real because they've had several seasons, but it sure seems that way.

I love the cast of Brooklyn 99 and the fat guy on the Goldbergs (based on his Curb Your Enthusiasm character), but I haven't seen any episodes of either of them.

BigMeatballDave 03-29-2014 01:52 PM

Been watching from the beginning.

Hilarious.

CoMoChief 03-29-2014 01:53 PM

Are they making a new Curb season? Leon was ****ing outstanding from that show.

keg in kc 03-29-2014 02:30 PM

Brooklyn 9-9 had a really good first season (ended last week).

Gloria has curves, understatement of the year, but Claire has a rockin' bod, just not the bewbs to go with.

She's Omaha certified.

The episode where cam and Mitchell have th stuffed animals tied to the roof of the car makes me laugh

Jeff Garlin is a hoot IRL. I love when he 'ruins' Doug Loves Movies. He just doesn't give a ****!!! Doug will try to guide the Leonard Maltin Game, and Jeff will just go off on whatever subject tickles his fancy.

Then there was that one episode where he just flat went to bar and never came back.

If you are a fan, he has his own podcast [though he hasn't put up new episodes in a while now]

'By the Way, in Conversation with Jeff Garlin'

on Itunes.

Baby Lee 03-31-2014 05:50 PM

Cam is a K-Stater, and a Royals and Chiefs fan.

Grew up deep in, of all things, 4-H and clowning.

Fizzbo is his own childhood creation. He did his clown act at 11-12yo for birthdays and bar/bat mitzvahs.

And he's 1 day exactly younger than me. So he was graduating from Piper HS, when I was BHS.

Also, before the 'made it' he lived across the street from where Adam Carolla grew up, he knew the guys who stole Adam's tools when he was filming 'Ace on the House' rehabbing his childhood home for his dad

Modern Family is supremely well written.

I went in pretty skeptical, but gave it a shot at my wife's request. I really, really enjoy the show. I've probably watched 30+ episodes since it's been running on USA.

Demonpenz 03-31-2014 10:52 PM

the fat dude used to be the clown down on the plaza.

I fell in love with Julie Bowen back in her "Ed" days. She has a tendency to get too thin these days (I think she's a pretty hard core runner). Very attractive though obviously, and plays the hot MILF perfectly in the show.

Baby Lee 04-03-2014 11:09 PM

I could watch Phil tease Gloria's hair, and how great various hairstyles look on her forever.
