We're getting a new team in town, and hopefully they're going to be hot. I guess they are looking for 250 ladies to try out. Exhibition game will start in June. Preliminary team logo attached.

The wheels just started turning for this... more info to come as it develops. I'll keep you all posted as I hear things.

I read a funny article a while back, and can't remember if it was the planet or in my newspaper. A woman tried out for a lingerie football team, and wrote an expose about being aghast that she didn't make the cut because she could throw the best in the tryouts. She then speculated that the league wasn't really about football and that they only wanted attractive women on the team. It was investigative reporting at its finest.

Watch Dickershun team up with some womens group to try and stop this.

Cue the videos showing college-aged female QBs throwing 80-yard passes into a trash can and off of a goal post in...

It may sound lame as hell, but it has apparently been wildly profitable. MTV2 experimented with showing delayed edited versions of the game, and apparently the ratings were decent enough that they are now jumping into televising more of it after signing a broadcast deal for 2011.

Tickets have been selling so well that I read that arena owners are actually looking at LFL (along with trying to cram as many MMA matches into the schedule as they can) as a way to help them survive the bad economy with fewer concert dates and low attendance at other events.

Now they are going completely ape with expansion, and are planning on playing games on Sunday if the NFL shuts down.

If I'm going to watch a bunch of women play tackle football, (not sure if I would, but if I were going to) they damn well better be pretty and wearing underwear. If a pool of girls at tryouts all meet that bar, then sure, pick the ones who can actually play a little bit.

Has Kansas City Sporting Club considered bringing this team under the Sporting umbrella? Perhaps they should.

No, it's not like that. They bill it that way, but it's actually a pretty violent brand of football. The women are different heights, but typically around the 130-140 range, solid muscle. And they are tough, like roller-bladers. This isn't some underwear stripper league.

I watched a game almost on a dare after a friend talked me into Tivoing it on MTV. Actually not bad quality football. But then again, I usually watch the Chiefs.

You can bet your as-s that one of these players wouldn't cry about a spilled drink.
