How do you interpret this win?

I know a lot of us want this team to lose as much as possible to assure the #1 overall pick, and today's win didn't hurt the Chiefs but it moves them closer to losing the pick since Jax lost.

To get to the point, it really comes down to answering these two questions that really shape our feelings, are you upset that they won because it decreases their chances at the #1 overall pick? Or, are you content with the fact that the team won today because it may build team character down the road. Imo, they did overcome this tragedy with a victory today. Let's face it, given their circumstances and coming out and playing the way they did, to do that, I give them some credit and am quite impressed actually. Not an easy thing to do by any means.

I really don't know how to feel to be honest?

I'm really not worried about Jacksonville getting the #1 pick. It's Oakland we should be worried about.

Dayze 12-02-2012 10:41 PM

part of me is disappointment, the other feels good about it.

I'm not all that worried about the #1 pick because I'm scared s hitless this team and organization will **** it up anyway. I have zero confidence in them evaluating the QB position based on the last 20 years (sans Green)

To be honest I just don't feel good wondering if a tragedy of this level is what it takes to motivate this team to get a win at home.I mean is something like this what it took to finally get the team to play ONE game inspired as a unit?

It was strange.

I didn't feel good or bad about it. I am disconnected.

O.city 12-02-2012 10:43 PM

I think we are failing to realize just how shitty the Panthers are.

Anyway, it was good for the players to win today, I'm sure it gave them a moment or two of joy.

I thought this exactly today.

Good point.

We beat an equally bad team today. No other way to interpret it really. We are who we are. We get beat by good teams, we stay in games to only get beat or like today, win, against bad teams. We're still awful. Our Chiefs haven't been a puzzle. That's why we're gonna get the top pick. We're not beating Cleveland, they are better than us. Same with Oakland, although that's my only concern. We're not beating Indy and we're not beating Denver, even if they sit their starters. We're not good. I don't know why people all the sudden think we're gonna win some games. Carolina has THREE wins. THREE. We didn't shock the world and beat the eventual Super Bowl champs. This team is who they are. A bad football team worthy of the first overall pick.

Defensively they played about the same as usual. Nothing to look into as far as that goes.

But offensively it looked like Brian Daboll actually had a gameplan this week, which was strange. The offense is what truly showed up. Jovan's death didn't have anything to do with the score in this game. Brady Quinn's efficiency in this game was top notch. Literally the best you could ask of him. Jamaal played like Jamaal. Bowe was the same.

The team was still the same old team.

But they played the shitty Panthers. A 3 win team with a horrid defense.

O.city 12-02-2012 10:45 PM

I think we've showed at times that we have a fair amount of talent on this team this year.

I also think we've showed just how unprepared we are and how terrible QB play and terrible coaching can destroy a team.

We've sit thru it this far, just slip off into the abyss and ride out the storm.

KCrockaholic 12-02-2012 10:47 PM

The common denominator in this game was good quarterback play. It's amazing what an efficient QB can do for a team. But if you put an average to above average defense in there, the Chiefs will lose, and Quinn will suck.

I'm not so sure it was motivation, more like focus. They had to focus hard on the game in order to keep from letting the Belcher incident make it so they could not keep their heads in the game. I had my doubts that Crennel could get them focused today, but somehow, it happened. For that, I give the coach and team credit. Why they couldn't focus together for the 11 previous games enough to have won more than once, that is beyond me.

Reerun_KC 12-02-2012 10:49 PM

This was the win that pioli and crennel needed. This cemented them in kc for the foreseeable future.

cdcox 12-02-2012 10:51 PM

It was nice to have some Kingdom noise eruptions for a change, but otherwise, meh.

O.city 12-02-2012 10:51 PM

This is actually turning out to be a great season for alot of us.

Because if we do in fact finish 2-14, for the first half of the season being a colossal record breaking bad team, and keep our coach and GM because of a win like this, it will be great for me.

Because I won't have to spend any more of my time and emotion on Kansas City Chiefs football.
