Too many goddamn Ioweegans on this board propping that piece of crap up into something he's not, never has been or never will be.

And none of this is Haley's fault.

Ioweegan here, and I can tell you straight up. Stanzi is not NFL caliber.

I don't miss him here, but I never hated the guy.

Todd Haley will never get another head coaching opportunity in the NFL. He went full reerun in front of the media, embarrassed his owner (which clearly difficult to do considering more than 40 years of futility), berated his own players, argued with his own coaching hires on the sidelines and swore up and down the field, all while on camera.

Todd Haley is not the guy you want as the face of your billion dollar franchise.

The guy is a nutcase. No sane NFL owner or GM will ever trust him to run a team ever again.

Yet Pittsburgh, a team that routinely wins sb's or finds itself deep in the playoffs, hired him to run the offense. Amazing. I'll take their opinion about good football people over that of yours.

Offensive coordinator =/= head coach

I would like to have seen Haley learn and grow under a GM who supported and cultivated his talent.

There were a lot of things that Haley did wrong, but I believe he would have learned through the years, and some of those things would have not been done with a credible QB.

We couldn't come up with someone off the streets better than Palko? He was a Haley tagalong from Arizona as for all I know. I don't know but what I do know is Pioli & Haley should have never had Palko start a NFL game with the Chiefs. Palko was on this team pryer to last year and the hold out so they had plenty of opportunity to find a decent to standard back up QB let a lone one that could push Cassell for the starting job. Fail = Pioli on that and also fail = Haley as he was the HC who couldn't get this team anywhere close to improvement with what he had to work with. The Miami game was the last straw for me that was on Haley and unprepared team no matter who the quarterback was we got our ass whooped yet again.

I get that. But if the guy was a total nutjob and had no idea how to work with players he wouldn't be where he is right now. I mean the last time he was an offensive coordinator he was in the super bowl.

He's kind of a good coach and just hasn't been in the right environment to develop.

Art Rooney II has made some "interesting" decisions that probably wouldn't have been made if his brother Dan Rooney hadn't left to become Ambassador to Ireland.

Do you think that Pittsburgh will be in the hunt for a SB come playoff time?

Too many OL and defense issues. They've got the injury bug as well...

This year? No, I don't. They have too many issues with their offensive line, aging defensive line and running game.

They've had really bad luck with offensive and defensive lineman in the draft the past several years and it's caught up to them. Also, the fact that Ryan Clark is unable to play at Mile High not only hurt them last year but hurt them this year as well. And Polamalu looks done and unworthy of that huge extension he received.

Now, I'm not saying they "suck" or any such nonsense. But they're definitely on a down cycle and if they fail to win 8 games this season, I wouldn't be surprised if they implemented more changes.

Generally when that happens to them, they draft well, and are back in it for another 5-7 years.

If not the very next year...
