Miami Dolphins Release C Jake Grove

Miami Dolphins Release C Jake Grove

The Miami Dolphins have released center Jake Grove just one year after signing him to a four year, $29M contract. Grove was a highly effective center for the Oakland Raiders, but nagging injuries limited his effectiveness last year with Miami and the Dolphins opted to go younger and cheaper at the position.

The one time we want the Pioli-Parcells connection to work, watch them not even give him a look LMAO

we are short along the Oline ... move Niswanger to interior Oline backup.

sign Grove and have him and wiegmann in the mix at Center instead of wiegmann and niswanger.

significant upgrade imo

Parcells released him as a favor to Pioli /Laz

Don't think he's healthy. Has only played 1 season where he played 16 games. Wasn't just banged up in Miami.

which would make him a good candidate to platoon with Wiegmann.

of course, as always it depends on how much money they want but with a team salary as low as our we could afford to spend a little more on a short term deal.

Meh, I'm worried about Clark spending too much money on personnel.

Pass.

I'm more concerned by the fact that he got beat out by a 2005 sixth round draft choice.

If he's healthy, I'm sure he's an upgrade over Niswanger but that hardly matters since Rudy spread his fairy dust all over One Arrowhead Drive, making him immune to game film and the Turk.

Skyy God 09-09-2010 05:19 PM

Since he's part of the Pats/Fins/Boys/Cards tree, I fully expect him signed no later than tomorrow.
