how about Boldin (if released) in KC opposite Bowe?

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/90...ns-report-says

Quote:

According to Fox Sports, the Baltimore Ravens have given an ultimatum to wide receiver Anquan Boldin: Take a pay cut or get released Tuesday.

The Ravens are looking to reduce Boldin's $7.5 million salary-cap number to increase their chances of re-signing free-agent linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and safety Ed Reed. Boldin, who played a big part in Baltimore's Super Bowl title run, is scheduled to earn $6 million in 2013.

The Ravens were expected to keep Boldin after the team didn't have to use the franchise tag on quarterback Joe Flacco, who signed a six-year, $120.6 million deal.

In the playoffs, Boldin caught 22 passes for 380 yards receiving (95 yards per game) and four touchdowns. He has led Baltimore in receiving yards in each of the past three seasons since being traded from Arizona.

Boldin, 32, said last month that he would retire if he was cut by the Ravens. Since the Ravens won the Super Bowl, linebacker Ray Lewis and center Matt Birk have retired and Baltimore has released guard Bobbie Williams.
I realize Boldin said he would retire but so did Brett Faaaaaahvre and Randy Moss. Boldin would be 100x the receiver Baldwin is and it would not cost any draft pics.

No thanks

OrtonsPiercedTaint 03-09-2013 10:37 AM

Isn't he Jon Baldwin?

CoMoChief 03-09-2013 10:37 AM

yes

O.city 03-09-2013 10:38 AM

Need more speed boldin ain't it

Hog's Gone Fishin 03-09-2013 10:38 AM

Alex Smith would benefit with Boldin to throw to.

crazycoffey 03-09-2013 10:38 AM

Mike Wallace instead

Easy 6 03-09-2013 10:39 AM

No, gimme speed... we dont need another power forward, we need a greasy fast little point guard who can score from anywhere on the court.

I would be shocked if they threw big money at a FA WR.

They just have to get production out of Baldwin. (Anyone brings up moving to TE gets negged)

Not at 32-33 yo. A one year contract maybe? I don't think he would live up to the expectations if he came here.

Baldwin seriously needs coached up or we do need find someone else. I'd be on his ass this offseason and not let up. See if he can come around or not. Coaching was piss poor last year so this is why I want to give Baldwin the benefit of the doubt that he can still turn it around and be productive for us. Also shit QB play didn't help any.

Sully 03-09-2013 10:47 AM

He played some QB in college, didn't he?
Worth a shot. Lets see his arm!

/sarcasm

Messier 03-09-2013 10:47 AM

Didn't he say he'd retire if released?

Sassy Squatch 03-09-2013 10:50 AM

Go and get a TE instead. See what you can get out of Baldwin and if he still shits the bed Maclin will be available in FA.

Mr. Laz 03-09-2013 10:52 AM

noooooooooooooooo

we need to add some speed

SAUTO 03-09-2013 10:54 AM

Let him take Baldwin's spot after he's moved to te.

He would be a monster there. more athletic than tg. did anyone see those one handed grabs he makes?

Fritz88 03-09-2013 10:55 AM

I'd take him in a one year deal. He's got at least one year.

I've been on board for moving Baldwin to TE, but now that Cassel is gone maybe we have a QB that might notice a reciever 30 yards wide ****ing open.

Rumor is the team is moving Baldwin to Tight End. Morons think he'll be awesome, but I think playing him in the slot and moving Dex out wide is the ticket.

I'll trust the people who know more than me to make football decisions, thanks. It's obvious that the GM and HC know more than any of us.

Just thought you guys wanna get better. Like us. But nope you fans seem to like 2-14. An upgrade at wr? That just sounds horrible.

That still leaves us with no one to stretch the defense.

The money would be better spent on someone who an stretch the field. Of course Smith won't be able to get it to a burner anyway so I guess it doesn't matter this year.

It would be like Fitz/Boldin in AZ. That said, he may not compliment Bowe but he would compliment an Offense that won't be throwing deep. Having 2 big receivers who can go get the ball and produce YAC would be a big boost to this offense. Especially it it benches Baldwin or converts him to a TE.
