Not crying. Just stating that I never understood the pick to begin with.

Very interesting and cool. This could work for both or neither sides. I'd rather have A.J. Jenkins than Baldwin, honestly.. but this trading of underwhelming WRs for fresh starts is fine by me. KC could use more speed, and would be screwed if Avery gets injured. SF could use a big dude that Kaep can lob it up to for jump balls. Will be fun to see how this plays out.

He was another waste of a pick, unfortunately. I just don't see how Wylie has a place on this team.

Special teams and slot WR depth.

You've been here since the beginning of CP. Far longer than DJ's Left Nut. And I've never seen you post anything 1/10th as original or intelligent as him.

All you ever do is comment on mob mentality and accuse people of being crybabies, when you're obviously the biggest one on this ****ing forum.

Go the **** away.

aww ... look sticking up for his buddy

Congrats.

I don't want Baldwin and expect nothing from him. I wanted Coby Fleener in 2012. If the 49ers took Fleener, they could have taken Keenan Allen this year instead of TE Vance MacDonald.

Our GM is great but he completely whiffed by reaching for Jenkins. sh IT Happens.

TimBone 08-19-2013 10:59 AM

Honestly though, it just feels good to have Baldwin off of the roster.

All I meant is, I expect Baldwin to be useless, and about the only use he will have is as a decoy or some stupid trick play. I'll be shocked if he plays 4 downs as a 49er or has any success.

Bust for bust. I hadn't given up on Jenkins yet. I expect NOTHING from Baldwin.

I wonder if they asked Alex Smith about Jenkins before they did this? Maybe Allen and Asamoah can encourage him and pick him up...

Also, I like that Dorsey doesn't **** around. That's the best thing about this.

I completely believe it. You know your players. I expect nothing from Baldwin. Bust for bust. I wish the 49ers had kept Jenkins. He is probably a bust, but at least he only has 1 bad year, so I had a bit of hope. Baldwin is going to be worthless unless he can block or play special teams.

Just tryin to find out a bit about Balwin. Sounds like you guys are just as frustrated with Baldwin as were were with AJ.

Things to know on AJ...

1) He is fast, but it never really shows on the field.
2) Small. a bit frail. His size/weight would lead you to believe that he's more stout than he is. Was getting OWNED at the line this past weekend. Couldn't create separation to save his life.
3) Came into camp last year totally out of shape. Was puking at the first minicamp.
4) Motivation really appears to be an issue. Won't fight for the ball
5) On the positive side, has HUGE hands and was good for spectaular catches in camp...but they were few and far between.

Attaching a draft vid with AJ as the first pick.

EDIT: NM...it won't let me post the link. Its an HD vid of the ESPN and NFL Network footage of AJ being drafted. Lookup Marvin49 on youtube to find it.

baldwin:

lots of size and physical ability but never really showed it on the field

should be strong but was easily knocked off his routes

longstrider so getting bumped around keeps him from getting up to speed

seems to lacks heart and passion

body of superman, head of gumby

potential is huge

so basically our 2011 draft, was shit, like the 2009 one.

Justin Houston alone makes it 10,000 times better than 2009.

When you factor in Hudson, it's arguably the best draft of the Pioli era.

Hell, Powe is solid depth at NT for us. It WAS the best draft of the Pioli era.

Not as great as it could have been at all, but not a total loss. We got a stud, a starter, and a really fat guy who's pretty fun to crack jokes about. Not bad.

Too bad 5'10" corners beat his ass on a regular basis.
