RIVERS=run the ball

In reality Bolts are now just a running team..slow down the run you have a good chance of beating the Bolts..Rivers had 1 good long pass..the Gates TD was a simple roll-out with a over-sized TE body blocking out the defender..Marty has his ole game plan again..Defence and run the ball....

I thought you were trying to pass intelligence to Herm and Solari for how to win games with a question mark at quarterback.

Nope. Nevermind. Carry on; Johnson doesn't need 25 carries.

They'll throw it more as Rivers gets more comfortable. Right now, they are a running team with a good defense - boring but effective. They'll pick and choose their spots to pass. Clasic Martyball... :hmmm:

Defense + Running Game = Contender. This was Rivers first start. Ease the kid into it. When you have the best RB in the league why force a first time starter to throw the ball??

I just still don't understand why Raiders stayed in a nickle D against them. They made it way to easy for LT.

SD > Faiders in every way.

San Diego has the defense to play Martyball, the Chiefs do not... which will remain the same as long as Goonther is defensive coordinator

Marty is taking a page out of Cowher's book in terms of how to manage a young QB. I don't think the Raiders are a legitimate test of how effective an all-run-all-the-time Chargers will be. There are some teams that will effectively stop the run, and will make Rivers beat them. If he steps up to the challenge, the Chargers will be very good.

Deion "primetime" Sanders was openly Dissing Gunther on the air last week.

First off LT is not the best RB in the league but top 5. Second of all what are you going to do when you have to face a legit run defense that stacks the box and limits your running game? Rivers might turn out to be a good player but he's going to struggle against better defenses.

He's not? That's some news to me.....
