Mock (4/18/13)

My goal with this particular mock is to project players that I think this team really wants to pick.

Assumptions:

1. The Chiefs trade Albert for the Dolphins' 2nd rounder.

2. The Chiefs are unable to trade down from the 1st overall.

On with the show.

1. OT Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M

2. QB Tyler Wilson, Arkansas

3. WR Ryan Swope, Texas A&M

3. S T.J. McDonald, USC

4. TE Travis Kelce, Cincinnati

5. OLB Ty Powell, Harding

6. ILB Michael Mauti, Penn State

6. DE Kapron Lewis-Moore, Notre Dame

7. RB Dennis Johnson, Arkansas

I think it's pretty obvious that you have to take Joeckel over Fisher, anymore. Fisher is more promising, but he's played like two games that have mattered. Joeckel has played three seasons against elite competition.

I believe the team is zooming in on Tyler Wilson, and I think McDonald's and Powell's raw athleticism will be attractive to Reid, as it has been in the past. Kelce's brother was drafted by Reid, and Mauti comes across as a player more talented than his draft position thanks to his injury history.

**** Tyler Wilson. I don't want him.

I don't want any developmental QB. If he's not a legit potential starter like Geno or Barkley (hell, even Glennon or Manuel) then **** him in the ass. We don't need him.

Tyler Wilson can like the sweat off my taint.

Rather have EJ, but Wilson will do.

Frankly I'd rather wait and draft a QB at the top of the 3rd than with a mid 2nd rounder. I think Qbs are going to fall so it would be a waste IMO to use a second on one of them.

Has there been some type of report of the Chief's interested in Wilson or is this something you're picking up on? I think they'll target either a TE or ILB in the second if they get the trade done with Miami. And G/C is still a need to replace Lilja, unless they think Draheim and Mattison can fill the position.

So we get Wilson a 3rd string QB for Albert a franchise starting player? Sounds dumb.

Then you will never have a QB that we will draft. Sorry.

So, picking first overall, a 2-14 team manages to upgrade WR2?

Kinda like (I can't remember which) a HOF & GOAT TE in Tony G for McCluster**** or Gilbert's cousin.
