home food product

Ok, so I have this product that I make. Pretty much everyone I that has tried it has told me it ought to be marketed. So, since it is a food product that is canned (mason jars), do any of you have any experience in having a company make up and can or package a product for you? Looking for a place to start. My wife wants to take it on as her little hobby job perhaps.

Make sure they are telling the truth and not just being nice.

Need to check state laws for food safety. The "county" fair mason jar jelly folks could likely point you in the right direction.

Good stuff. IMO

A company to do the canning????

My guess is that your first step will be to get in contact the the ATF buearu. I'd recommed speaking in hypotheticals, rather than admit you're already making 'shine.

Tooge is a really fantastic cooker and he runs with the same so I'm sure that's not a concern.

I thought I would make a few batches up and take them to some specialty stores that are family owned and local and see if they would like a free trial and then if they want to order some, it wuld be a good plae to start.

A family friend used to own Walker's Food here in KC. They might not be able to help you out directly, but I'm sure they could shed some light on where you can start. They're some nice folk.
