The Kansas City Chiefs have shown interest in small school draft prospect Lawrence Lovell according to Aaron Wilson at Pro Football Talk. Lovell played left tackle for Stony Brook University. He's been projected as a guard or center in the NFL.
At 6'3" and nearly topping 300 pounds, his initial size is pleasing because he'll have to face the likes of Jamal Williams (6'3", 348 pounds), Tommy Kelly (6'6", 300 pounds) and likely a large nose tackle the Broncos will utilize.
Of course the New England Patriots are already interested and have conducted a private workout with him.
At first glance, Lovell appears to have the big and smart parts of the Scott Pioli's mantra "big, strong, fast and disciplined players". He's already finished undergrad and is working on a graduate degree now. Finding a solution to the center position should be of utmost importance to the Chiefs at this point considering they'll now have two teams in the division running a 3-4 defense which means a nose tackle will be right in his face.
